Guest guest
The following was posted by me sometime in Nov2001 on SJVC but there was no discussion on this. I think there are lot of members who are not well versed in the vedic lore and knowledge and haven't had the good fortune of starting the study of astrology at right and auspicious time. I am one of them. Hope some learned members will write and discuss the above. Thanking everyone, With regards, Jagmeet Respected Gurus and dear friends, I was going through Prasna Marga by Dr.B.V.Raman stanza 25"An intelligent ,calm and pious person should begin study of astrology on an auspicious day when Jupiter is in Lagna and Moon occupies 'mridu'(benific) and 'seeghra'(fast) vargas. As per the notes (a)'Mridu' and 'Seeghra' vargas are interpreted as the vargas of Mercury (Aasreha,Jyestha,Revati ) by some or (b)'Mridu' vargas are Mrigasira,Anuradha and Revati and 'Seeghra' vargas are Aswini, Hasta and Pushyami by others 2)As per SJV Parampara which do we follow, (a) or (b). If it is (a) then thats fine but if it is (b) then how do we reconcile the fact that moon is expected to be in two vargas at the same time or is there a hidden meaning. 3)Is the presence of Jupiter in Lagna for start of studies in astrology sacrosanct? What if Jupiter is malefic for Lagna eg.Libra,Capricorn etc.? 4)Should the study of astrology be started with Mantra Diksha or it can be started at any other good Muharta? With regards Jagmeet

Guest guest
OM KLEEM KRISHNAYA NAMAHA Namasthe Ram, I will try to answer your question as it is the basic question to start learning astrology. Learning astrology is also eduction pertaining to the study of planets in the zodiac and their applications. So following are the hints for starting to learn astrology : 1)The nakshatras-Ashwini,Punarvasu,Pushyami,Hasta,Swati,Moola nad Revathi are good to start with.Check your Janma Nakshatra and count from it either 2nd or4th or 6th or 9th falls any of the above nakshatras and it is auspicious to start from the said nakshatra having Tara Bala. 2)Wednesday,Thursday or Friday are best to start .If the following yogas are there then it is excellent: a)Wednesday coinciding Hasta Nakshatra with Mithuna or Kanya rising sign(Lagna) and Sun,Moon and Mercury occupying the navamsha of Mercury. b)Wednesday with Mercury in Lagna which is placed in 3rd quarter of Hasta. c)Jupiter in Cancer sign (Uccha) or in Cancer Navamsha. d)Friday when Meena Lagna is rising with Venus in 27 Deg. in Meena. e) Sun must be in his own Hora. 3)The Lagna should not be a fixed sign and common signs are the best (Mithuna,Kanya,Dhanu and Meena) and movable (chara) signs are ordinary. 4)The 4th,8th,9th 14th,new and full moon days should be avoided.1st of dark half and 2nd,3rd,5th,6th,10th and 11th of bright half (Shukla Paksha) are best. 5)Forenoon and Noon are best to start. 6)See that when selecting the chart for learning,3rd.6th and 11th are occupied by malefics and no planet should be occupied in 8th house of the Muhurtha Lagna. Then with the initiation from your Guru ,Astrology learning can be started with the first prayer to Lord Ganapathy. I hope that I cleared your doubts and the listed Gurus can further throw light on this matter. Thanking you, With regards, Ramadas Rao.vedic astrology, "ved_ram" <ved_ram> wrote: > even i want the answer for that question.i also posted so many > questions with requests and no one is answering my questios.i feel > only some good astrologers are positively responding to all questions > put .rest all( i mean those who r intrested in money)are answering > only to thier clients who are posting questions to this groups. > > > In vedic astrology, jagmeet s dheendsa <jsdheendsa@j...> > > wrote: > > > > The following was posted by me sometime in Nov2001 on SJVC but there > was > > no discussion on this.
