Dear Visti,

Thanks for your reply.

>This isn't the Janma Vighati Graha. The Janma Vighati Graha, changes

>every Vighati(24 seconds) and is found using the amount of vighatis

>passed since sunrise/sunset.

I know, amount of time in hours x 2.5 x 60 gives a number, we expunge

multiples of 9 and round off to the higher integer. Then the number

according to the weekdays gives janma vighati graha. I remarked now that I

mistakenly took the calculation for janma vighati lagna, having multiplied

by 5 instead of 2.5. I understand the center of Sun has to be taken for

sunrise/sunset? At least this gives me accurate janma vighati graha for

the chart I spoke about with exact birthtime (btw Nandan's daughter) as it

is a girl.

But my question was intended in regard to chart rectification. I remember

from an earlier post by you there was a system by which to regress the

lagna in sashtiamsa in order to find or with the use of janma vighati

graha. I forgot or didn't understand it well how to do this. Could you

clarify?

Dear Krsna,

To make postulations about the acuracy of sunrise/sunset timings, using the

Vighati is far fetched. I don't know anyone who would with a clear mind state

that their birthtime was acurate within 24 seconds, unless it was rectified.

Keep in mind that this is only used for very finer methods of rectification, and

by doing this we are finding the Ardha-Nadiamsa position, which determines the

sex.

I use Upper and Lower limb in case of sunrise/sunset.

I.e. Day begins at first light.

Night begins at last light.

As for Shastiamsa technique, you might have been referring to an old note on

Vighati Lagna in Shastiamsa. However i've been having doubts as to, whether

this same Vighati Lagna determines sex or not, etc. But i don't know what

shastiamsa regression technique you are thinking of.

Meditate on this:

Why is;

a) Pranapada & Janma Vighati Lagna, calculated from Sunrise time only?

b) Jamna Vighati Graha calculated from either Sunrise or Sunset time? (Think Horas).

By understanding the calculations we can understand everything.

Best wishes, Visti.
