Dear Gurus and members,

What are the rules for identifying Badhakas? Should I be using the

rule as described in the Jataka Parijata, where the designated

Badhaka planet gives bad results only if its house is occupied by

Mandi or Karesha or is the designated badhaka for instance for Libra

being the Sun will always be harmful immaterial of the placement of

mandi or karesha?

Please excuse me if I have misstated the rule.

Thanks in advance.

Dear Sudharsan,

allow me to forward the answer which I get on the same question from

Gauranga Das:

"According to my knowledge, the Badhaka or obstructing effect always

functions, but if the Badhakesa is also lord of the baove mentioned evil

houses, he becomes even more a troublemaker. So if Venus is a Yogakaraka,

she will give Rajayoga, but as Badhaka to the Lagna at the same time she may

give some physical inconvenience. I would be interested for example in the

chart of Stephen Hawking, if anyone on the list knows his birth data. Maybe

he would serve as a good example for this."

Dear Sudharsan,

See if the grahas in badhaka Sthana or the badhakesh is afflicted. Thats all.

The type of grahas afflicting will indicate the problem.

Gulika or ketu in Badhak Sthana indicates troubles from dead spirits.

Best wishes, Visti.
