Namaste,

The first thing to read on Tithi Pravesha is

http://jyotishdigest.com/May02/tithi_pravesh.htm

In another mail, you inquired about Narayana dasa and Sudasa. Try to

read Sanjay's books "Narayana dasa", "Crux of Vedic Astrology: Timing

of Events" and "Jaimini Maharishi's Upadesa Sutras" and my

book "Vedic Astrology: An Integrated Approach".

You also inquired about my past research on rainstorms. I left it in

the middle. Before I left it, my findings were published in January

2000 issue of Astrological Magazine. I wanted to send a copy of the

article here for your benefit, but I am not sure if I have the right

to do so. I don't know if the copyrights are with author or with AM.

Basically, find the latest Sun-Moon conjunction chart. Find D-8 at

the time. Look at arudha lagna of D-8. If it is in a watery sign (Cn,

Sc and Pi) or in Cp/Aq and/or if Moon/Venus are associated with it,

then watery trouble is possible during the month. If natural malefics

like Mars, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu occupy or aspect this AL in D-8,

then a rainstorm is possible.

To be honest, my study wasn't exhaustive. I just worked with 15

rainstorms and found this correlation. Don't be misled by my findings

and examine them rationally!

May Jupiter's light shine on us,

Narasimha

For timing, compress Vimsottari dasa to one lunar month and find it

from the chart cast above. Dasa of a malefic planet who

occupies/aspects AL in D-8 is usually running at the time of the

rainstorm.
