Guest guest
Dear shri PVR Narasimha Raoji, Pranam, Kindly enlighten me on your novel views on the application of sahams with respect to divisional charts. Is there any available material on this subject. The comments in the help files of the j hora software help file is the only thread available to me. Guest guest
JAYA JAGANNATHA! Dear Dewavrat, Namaste. > Dear shri PVR Narasimha Raoji, > > Pranam, > > Kindly enlighten me on your novel views on the application of sahams > with respect to divisional charts. Is there any available material > on this subject. The comments in the help files of the j hora > software help file is the only thread available to me. Sanjayji has given some examples of using Sahams in the Crux of Vedic Astrology, although I believe, not for D-charts. However, like any othe point or body in the chart, you can analyse the position of Sahams in different D-charts, although to my knowledge the software does not calculate this by itself, so you'd have to hand calculate the amsas into which they will fall. According to my understanding, a Saham will gain significance especially in the D-chart connected with hit, like Vivaha Saham in Navamsha, Roga Saham in D-6, Putra Saham in D-7, etc. I'm not aware of any literature available on this, but you can experiment with it, applying the rules applicable for Rasi. One final note on Sahams: Sahams would be a third category besides Grahas and Lagnas already present in the chart. All three have a common feature of having exact degree positions in the zodiac, as opposed to other bodies like Arudhas for example. Therefore their positions in amsas should be calculated on the basis of their exact location in the Rasi cakra, whereas Arudhas or Argalas would have to be calcuated relative to the divisional charts. Sahams are actually sensitive points in the chart, much like house cusps, whereas Grahas are movable bodies, representing individuals or living entities, and Lagnas are like filters of different type, i.e. they will show the native in respect of his body (Janma Lagna), position (Ghati Lagna), wealth (Hora Lagna), fortune (Sri Lagna) etc. However Sahams in the birth chart get activated if they are closely conjoined by any other essential points like Grahas, Lagnas or house cusps. Also exaxt trinasl aspect would count here. Now coming to the D-charts, a Saham falling into the same division as another planet or Lagna will not necessarily mean such a close conjunction. So here I would say that the placement of the Saham is more indicative of certain informations and prespects rather than of concrete events happening, like in Rasi or in a Tajaka chart. So you should analyse with this in mind.
