Guest guest
Namaste, In Hindu tradition, there is a concept of 'Aapat sannyaas'. This is the sannyas (renunciation) taken at a moment of danger to life. It is based on two ideas: (a) sannyas is equivalent to death and (b) life after renunciation is equivalent to new birth. Generally, Shankaracharya's taking up sannyas is said to be an instance, though there are other opinions. So, the question is: In case of renunciates/sannyaasis, do we consider the time of 'natal' birth or the time of taking up renunciation 'formally'? Guest guest
Astrology, its predictions, are based on the actual Birth Time. It is from this Natal Chart that we predict even the time/period of a person taking up Sanyasa. The time of a persons taking up Sanyasa, cannot be exactly determined. On the same analogy, one should consider a Brahmin's Birth when his Upanayanam is performed. This is said to be second birth. So a Brahmin is called DVIJA- twice born. This is not done. So let us not confuse, relegious beleifs with Astrologal FACTS. --- Nomadeva Sharma <nomadeva wrote: > Namaste, > > In Hindu tradition, there is a concept of 'Aapat > sannyaas'.
