Question about Upapada

Some of you might have noticed my post on the recent recurrent

miscarriages faced by my wife (see message 16546 to catch that

thread). Visti and others have generously analyzed and prescribed

remedies. I still continue to delve deeper to understand what the

problem is. I see the following and would like it if those of you who

have recently talked about Upapada can clarify:

 

1) My Upapada is the 4th house, Taurus (Aquarius Lagna). It receives

a 3rd aspect from Saturn in the 2nd. Receives a 2nd aspect from Rahu

in 3rd. There are no relieving benefic aspects on the Upapada.

2) 2nd from Upapada is Gemini, containing Mercury and Sun, both

benefics from an Upapada point of view (correct?).

 

So, if the theory is that Upapada tells about "getting" married and

2nd from Upapada about "maintaining" marriage, then why am I married

in the first place? And since I am, why is my wife facing problems

now due to my chart - the 2nd from my Upapada has only benefics, no?

 

In my wife's chart, I see:

1) Upapada in the 10th house, Aries (Cancer Lagna). Occupied by

retrograde debilitated Saturn. 4th aspect from exalted Mars in 7th.

7th aspect from both Venus and Jupiter in 4th. So there is a balance

of benefic and malefic elements.

2) 2nd from Upapada is Taurus. 7th aspect from Sun and Mercury in the

5th (both benefics from an Upapada point of view).

 

Here things look ok, I believe.
