Some info on karta required

Hi,

 

I've a few questions on karta:

 

1. What's the significance of karta in a chart?

 

2. Can there be different kartas for the Hora, Ghatika and Janma

lagna, or is the karta for a chart?

 

3. If more than one planet aspects/conjoins either of the 3 special

ascendants, does the one with the highest longitude get to be karta?

 

I'd appreciate it if some guru spends a few minutes on this.

Karta by definition means doer or a person who acts

2. Can there be different kartas for the Hora, Ghatika and Janma lagna, or is the karta for a chart?

Any planet that conjoins / aspects lagna, OR Hora Lagna OR Ghatika Lagna

qualifies to be a karta. Apart from aspects (Rasi aspects only) and conjuntion,

ownership is to be considered too.

3. If more than one planet aspects/conjoins either of the 3 special ascendants,

does the one with the highest longitude get to be karta?

 

I assume you are talking of Yogada. If so, Any planet who conjoins/aspects/owns

HL AND lagna OR GL and Lagna is a yogada. Yogada means the planet who gives a

yoga in a horoscope. This way you can have more than one yogada as long as the

planet fulfills the above condition(s). Thus checking longitudes are out of the

question.

This is funny. In Kannada (my local language), karta roughly translates to an

undertaker!! For example, should I die and should he light my pyre, my son

would be called karta. In any case, my question still remains. What's his

significance? I mean, the karta of a horoscope does *what*?2. Can there be

different kartas for the Hora, Ghatika and Janma lagna, or is the karta for a

chart?

Again, you've left it tantalizingly just short. After considering the ownership,

then what? If Saturn is in Pisces aspecting the Virgo asc, how do I interpret

what the karta does, seeing his mtk that happens to be a trik-cum-upachaya?3.

No I meant whether there can be different kartas for the different lagnas in the same chart.
