Guest guest
Gurus and learned members of the list: I noticed that jyoyishis widely hold different take on time of birth. 1. Time the baby has its first breath outside mothers womb (which is when the baby's head comes out). 2. Time when umblical cord is cut. 3. Time when the baby first cries. In most cases, the 3 times are very close and the general reading is fairly accurate. In some cases, due to medical conditions the baby may not cry for some time at all. Another case: If during some extreme theoretical circumstances (which is not so rare in desi movies) some woman gives birth to a baby all by herself, it may take a good few minutes of time before she can cut the umblical cord. In these cases the birth time according to these three different methods may be vastly different. I also read in vedalink.com (faqs) that the karmic birth time may be different from actual birth time (karmic birth time can happen before actual birth of the baby) and vedic astrology takes only karmic birth time (which jyotishts get by doing birth time rectification). I will appreciate if Gurus and learned educate us about what our Maharishis (Parasara, Jaimini, Varahamihira and others) have said about time of birth? -Siva.
