Dear Karen:

This is a genuine dillema. Most Hindu priests, especially the thugs

in India wearing orange robes, talk about the "pap," i.e.sin of

eating non-veg food.

Now, there is a repeated mention of Hindu Kings (some also

incarnations of God) going for a hunt, which means they did eat meat.

There are some mentions about Sages eating meat.

So, why not let the learned-ones put this issue to rest. Can or Can't

the Hindus eat meat and if they do, is it a sin?

Karen, we're lucky that we do have some Gurus who have indeed studied

the Vedas and Scriptures critically and who can share their

understanding with the ignorant souls like me so why not encourage

the diffusion of knowledge rather than smother it?

Isn't the purpose of this board is for people like us interact with

the Gurus and with each other and dissipate knowledge? Vedic

astrology is just a small off-shoot of the Vedas, why then should be

limit this board to Astrology only.

I think it is refreshing to have an interaction now and then relating

to OTHER avenues of the Vedas, Bhagwad Geeta and Hiduism in general.

Respectfully,

MD
