Guest guest
Hi Sagar: I used a book called "Vedic Atrology" by Ronnie Grace Dreyer, learned the basics in about 8 hours, this book is extremely good for learning. Then I used another book called "Vault of Heavens" By Earnst Wilhelm, this book is for beginners as well, but includes a lot more examples and a comprehensive chapter on Rahu and Ketu which was missing from Ronnie Dreyer's book. Now, I'm studying Pt. Sanjay Rath's book which is an advanced book and talks at lenght about Arudha lagnas, etc. I'm still waiting for PVR Narshimha's book which is supposed to be the intermediate book that bridges the pricinples I learned with the basic book to the advanced writings of Rath. I still don't have any idea as to what upa-padas or Arudha lagnas, etc. etc. are. I'm hoping that PVR's book talks about these. Guest guest
Dear Mr Desai, http://www.angelfire.com/wizard/vedic/lesson16.html has a very brief but I found the most simple and succint description of what arudha is all about. I too am an early learner though I have been interested for quite some time in vedic astrology. As usual this just scratches the tip, there is much more detail in the books on this topic. kind regards ss monmuk111 [monmuk111 ] 01 October 2002 17:00vedic astrologySubject: [vedic astrology] Re: Astrology COURSE and BOOKS --reply to SagarHi Sagar:I used a book called "Vedic Atrology" by Ronnie Grace Dreyer, learned the basics in about 8 hours, this book is extremely good for learning. Guest guest
Re your reply to Sagar, Do you mean you have been unable to obtain PVR Narasimha Rao's book. If so I have copies here (UK). I think it is very good. Regards Gordon
Guest guest
Regarding mr. K n rao ‘s books I want to say those r some of the best books available in the market. Initially I bought yogis ,destiny & wheels of time. It certainly inspires every sadhak…I was touched by the instances of yogis…rare ,but true….it gave me some food for the soul… so as 2 why an astrologer should exist ?..predict? …when everything is preordained…predestined. Why astrology is divine…what should b the purpose of an astrologer? Often I find these kind of questions being discussed in the group. Those interested ..must read that book. Equally good is “karma & rebirth in astrology”. I did not read “learn hindu astrology easily”…bcoz by the time I came 2 know bout book. , I was quite familiar with the basics. Recently I bought char dasha, mandook dasha , enigmas in astrology, ups & down in career, advnce predictive techniques, finer techniques of prediction. So beautifully & logically he has explained gajkesari yoga one of the important & simplest yogas which is too commonly detected by the astrologers…but not so common r the results . One negative thing which I find.. he often criticizes politicians, commercial astrologers inhis books..thogh he is not wrong …. He always believe in scientific way of doing research… the principals which he or his teams have expounded r tested on thousands of horoscopes. Hence ...reliable! After subscribing to journal of astrology , now I have lost interest in future samachar(by furure point). I don’t about other’s perception (well, I guess his lagnesh is swagrahi, so arudha is same as reality). One of my colleagues found him 2 b autocratic (?) in the class & he left bvb. he has not given his birth details in any of his books..though the kundali is given. It is libra ascendent with mars , venus, moon in lagna itself. Sun ketu & exalted mercury in 12 house, exalted ju in 10 , sat in 3rd house. If someone has exact b.details, plz. Post it , one can learn a lot from such examples. prashant GWBrennan (AT) aol (DOT) com wrote: Dear MD Re your reply to Sagar, Do you mean you have been unable to obtain PVR Narasimha Rao's book.
