Guest guest
Dear Rampriya: It is apparent from your writings that you're very much in touch with the Western culture and menatlity. As you already know, people in the US are very sensitive about crimes related to drugs, weapons, rape and child-abuse; therefore, it is necessary that no person who's involved with such crimes directly or indirectly be associated in any way, shape or form with a PUBLIC not-for-profit organization like SJVC, the stress is on the word PUBLIC. Don't you remeber when the Monika Lewinsky scandal came out, almost everyone including his close friends disassociated themselves from Bill Clinton. Don't you remember when Arther Andersen was charged with a federal crime, most of the clients fired AA as their auditor? "Guilty by association" is the phrase that's very popular in the US. How do you know that Laxmi or whatever her real name is wasn't married to her husband at the time of his conviction. The information that's reported to the IRS on form 990 is PULIC information and is open for public to view, especially, the information about the officers of the organization (I know this because I've served on the board of a two NFP in the US). How do you know that the PULIC won't feel badly if SJVC becomes a refuge for the vestiges and drop-outs of ISKON? I'm sure you are aware that organizations Hare-Krisha, ISKON, Rajneesh, etc. are known to be cults (in some circles)in the US and are closely watched by FBI. Then, why are so many of the officers of SJVC have an association with ISKON? Why can't working professionals like PVR Narshimha who aren't associated with any cults be the officers of SJVC? Isn't the goal of SJVC to propagate the knowledge of Vedic Astrology to the general public? Can't this be achieved by having a list of officers who are working professionals like PVR (educated at Rice University--very very prestigious) who'd bring credibility and prestige rather than have some ex-ISKONites who'd bring doubt and possibly disgrace? I was shocked when I first read Dina-nath's e-mail regarding Laxmi's and Robert's past. Well, I think I've answered your question. I guess if Sanjay wants to make SJVC a worldwide NFP organiztion, credibilty and prestige will be the CRUX in making this happen.
