This is regarding Panch Purush Maha yoga.

Take an eg of Hamsa Yoga; The following are the various

notes that I have read for a subject to have Hamsa

yoga:

1. If Guru be exalted in Kataka or in a kendra or

Trikona from Moon and not at enemy's camp

2. If Guru be exalted in Kataka or in a kendra or

Trikona from Lagna and not at enemy's camp

3. If Guru is in a kendra or Trikona from lagna and

not at enemy's camp

This is the same for the other four even.

Which among the above should one follow?

Gurus please guide.

regards,

N.Anand

Om Gurave Namah

Dear Anand,

What Rama says is true. None of the points re. Pancha Mahapurusha yoga's you made are right.

Taking the example of jupiter Hamsa yoga. Jupiter should be in a quadrant in his

own sign or exaltations from lagna. This yoga does not apply from the moon

neither does it work when it;s in a trikona or if jupiter is retrograde.

Hope this helps. Will await a post from Rama and other learned members here.

Dear Anand,

Hari & Rama are correct in their answer. See also Raman "300 important combinations".

Some astrology computer programs (.) imply that Jupiter in Kendra from the moon

is Hamsa Yoga which is both wrong and confusing.

Kind regards

Dear Anand,

I think you should examine your sources a bit more closely

before accepting them.As far as I know Panch Mahapurusha Yogas are caused when

either of the five nonluminaries are in a Quadrant(Angle) And when the Quadrant

in which they are posited is either their own sign or is the sign of their

Exaltation. Both the conditions must be fulfilled for the Yoga to take place.

Of course when the Planet is placed in exaltation sign the results would be far

more better as the planet also aspects its debilitation sign with full aspect,

thus improving not only the results ofthe house in which he is posited but also

for the house opposite it.Even when in his own house and in quadrant same result

is given to the sign opposite , which means 2 of the 4 kendras are benefitted.

If you think about what the Kendras represent you will understand the reason

for the importance of the Panch maha Purusha Yogas and why different results

are predicted in case of different planets.

Regards,

Chandrashekhar.
