Dear List,

The vast differences in lifes between people who born at same time

in same locality has always been a challenge to many jyotishis.

Recently, I enquired a doctor who is working in the labour ward of

one of the biggest & busiest govt hospitals in India about the

frequency of births there. Her answer surprised me. She said that at

times they have clocked multiple births literally within a minute

interval! (not twins - children born to different parents). It should

really be interesting to observe the life of such children. I am very

sure atleast some of their life might be very different. While for

twins, the family environment, upbrining, education, relatives, etc

are the same/almost the same, it isnt the case for the above

mentioned children.

I also asked her opinion about a nadi-astrology theory of male,

female and non-human birthtime zones. That theory holds that male

births happen only during male time zone and female births happen

only during female time zone. These timezones are buffered between

non-human time zones where animal births and plant germinations take

place. The doc opinioned that from her experience, that theory falls

flat on its face!

Going back to the case of children born at nearly the same time in

same location (just adjaent rooms or sometimes even in the same room

of that hospital), I am very sure that not all of their lives will be

identical. May be this is where free will comes into play. This had

me thinking that may be most jyotishies are discounting the impact of

free will. Many great God realized yogis and saints have talked about

free will. The chapter "outwitting the stars" in Autobiography of a

Yogi, by Paramahansa Yogananda has a discussion on free will and

effect of grahas and stars. Yoganandaiji was of the opinion that

while planets do have an effect, almost all of it can be overcome by

free will and dedicated effort and points to his own life as an

example.

Is this where prasna come into picture? Could it be that for most

natives who dont have a powerful KSY/KAY, free will and actions play

a major role than grahas?

-Siva.
