The reason I am asking this question is because a planet in upachaya is more powerful then the one in trine correct? Please enlighten me. Thanks. ( not in kona ). To see further good results of this yoga, why don't we consider the sun sign also as a reference point. Whether the concerned planet is located in Kona or kendira from the sun sign ? What Mu said " It is is recommended that it also be seen in the same position from the sun." Because of this I pointed out that in MGR's chart Jupiter is in the 4th, from the sun sign. ( Particularly not in dustana from the sun sign. ) When planets are in kendira or Kona with each others,this gives some sort of powers. When saturn and mars are in kendira with each others ( in kona ? ) give some type of badness. Gurus my knowledge is not enaugh to conclude further about this issue. But we shouln't finish the subject telling that classic says so and so. Further analysis is appreciated. Another example : His name is V. Pirabhaharan, Supremo of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil EElam, Northern Sri Lanka. His D.O.B : November 26th, 1954. Time about 5 PM , not very accurate. Long : 80E00 : Lat: 09N40 No doubt his ascendent is Aries. In the 4th, Jupiter is exalted. In 7th,saturn is exalted. This is apparent in the posts about Panch Maha Purusha yoga. Yoga , basically, as far astrology is concerned is a particular position of planets which results in certain happenings or traits in the Jataka's case.They may be equated to empirical formulae which are easier to remember and apply.What you are asking about is modifications to established yogas. Here you have to apply the basic principles of astrology to understand what effects would arise. I always say that it is better to understand underlying logic and principles of astrology so that your predictive skills improve. You need not remember yogas if your basic understanding of the principles is sound, as then you will be able to understand exactly how a peculiar positioning of planets will affect a jataka.
