Guest guest
Namaste Waldemar, You pay attention to what you read! I had implemented antardasas this way 3 years back, when Sanjay taught me TP and TA dasa. I had implemented it in consultation with Sanjay and both of us have been using the software during this time. However, when I referred Sanjay's latest book, I did see what you mentioned. Clearly there is a discrepancy here. Let me get this clarified by him and change my tutorial and software if needed. Thank you very much for paying attention and bringing this to my attention! Guest guest
Namaste Waldemar, One more word on the same thing: In the same book by Sanjay ("Vimsottari dasa"), a little after your quote on subperiods in Ashtottari dasa, he gives examples. Go through the calculations and you will see that he is actually using the approach I mentioned. For example, take the native of the following birthdata: April 20, 1971 Time: 16:20:00 Time Zone: 5:30:00 (East of GMT) Longitude: 79 E 35' 00" Latitude: 18 N 00' 00" Sanjay used him as "Ashtottari Case 1". He gave the mahadasa calculations as: "Table 37: Astottari dasa –Case-1 Ashtottari Dasa Maha Dasas: Jup: 1967-09-02 (17:36:28) - 1986-09-02 (14:27:15) Rah: 1986-09-02 (14:27:15) - 1998-09-02 (16:10:24) Ven: 1998-09-02 (16:10:24) - 2019-09-03 (01:25:54) Sun: 2019-09-03 (01:25:54) - 2025-09-02 (14:11:21) Moo: 2025-09-02 (14:11:21) - 2040-09-02 (10:41:07) Mar: 2040-09-02 (10:41:07) - 2048-09-02 (11:53:00) Mer: 2048-09-02 (11:53:00) - 2065-09-02 (20:18:32) Sat: 2065-09-02 (20:18:32) - 2075-09-03 (09:54:21)" Then he wrote: "he had traveled abroad for higher studies during Jupiter antardasa in Rahu dasa Mar-1995 to Apr-1997". If you take antardasas in Rahu dasa as Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, Mars, Moon, Sun, Venus and Rahu, then Jupiter antardasa would start in Sept 1986 and NOT in Mar 1995. Clearly Sanjay wasn't following the procedure he mentioned at the beginning of the chapter. If Sanjay got Jupiter antardasa in Mar-1995 to Apr-1997, he definitely took the antardasas in Rahu dasa to be Venus, Sun, Moon, Mars, Merc, Sat, Jup and Rahu (presumably he was using my software). This is exactly what I have taught. In any case, I will get this clarified and make changes in the tutorial and the software if needed.
