Dear Learned Guru,

This is a private mail in response to one of your replies on vedic astrology .

I am just a learner and a bit confused with AL in Dasamasa replies,

If from AL(in Rasi chart) if Rahu is present in the 7th house, and 3rd house

from AL, exalted sun with Mercury(combust) for Gemini lagna, what would be the

indications . Will this person have unscruplous means of income, Sun and

Mercury, would it be treated as malefics here in absolute regard and would it

form obstruction to the Rahu/7th house significations.

If my query is stupid pls forgive me, as i am a learner with maybe confused

basics. SOme Gurus might not like personal mails, but i am too shy to put my

queries on the board as yet.

My understanding is that malefics in the 3rd and 6th from AL is very good for

material prospects. The stronger they are the better they are for material

gains. 3rd is the house of courage and valour, malefics placed there shall use

their means of valour to enhance the AL. So the malefics placed in strength

shall cause good material prospects. The opposite is true for benefics, which

are bad for material and good for spiritual pursuits. As we are analysing in

Dasamsa, I shall presume that we all mean that the results shall be given in

the workplace or field of karma in broader sense.

 

3rd is mysterious house and shows the place and circumstances of death. Here we

are applying the bhavat bhavam principle of 8th from 8th. However, I think this

is applicable to rasi chart only and not in the job field.

 

Malefics causing argala from the 3rd without any virodhargala shows that this

will cause the desires to grow and grow without any opposition. This is why

malefics in the 3rd gives the drive to fulfill those desires.

in the area of career. HoweverI do not think that the dictum of Jaimini on the

3rd from AL in Rasi chartwill be applicable without change to the D-10. If we

think oina broadresense, planets in 3rd from AL would indicate obstacles,

difficulties, inthis case may indicate difficulties in career success arising

fromgovernment (Sun), conflicts (Mars) and servants (Saturn). The picture

iscomplicated by taking into consideration that planets in the 3rd obstructthe

argala given by planets in the 11th from AL, however if these aremalefics, as

you have indicated, they will cause a Viparita argala, so thecircumstances

which initially seem to be difficulties, turn out to behelpful in the ned,
