When I said Karma yoga - I meant it in how Gita classifies it, just as you expressed eloquently above. However, I want to put a thought here: Irrespective of whether advaita is true or dwaita is true, when someone grows spiritually, a gradual realization dawns upon him/her that all jivas in the world are the same. That *results* in compassion towards all jivas. Even in my very very limited progress in spirituality, I can see this clearly. The more I turn spiritual, the more I become compassionate towards all. In fact, Ramaling Adigalar mentions jiva karunyam (love for all jivas) as a primary - basic requirement for attaining moksha. I interpret it not as a requirement but as an inevitable result of progress in spirituality. Though at that stage, one will not be *attached to the good deeds (such as help/compassion to other living things), compassion towards all becomes a habit due to the realization. IMHO, this can be taken as a test to find one's real spiritual attainment. Since at a high level of spiritual maturity, one doesnt expect anything in return, it is beyond cycle of karma. I have something more to discuss, but I will do so in cosmicroots list, since it will be digressing from astrology too much. Guest guest
dear narsimha, namaskar, your informative posts on D-20 really helped me to see a clearer picture. Maybe you'll choose to answer this- first time I've dared to write to a guru. i've exalted sun Ak in 1st house- shows a massive ego issue to be grappled with before any spiritual progrees is made. Now 4th from here- cancer isempty but it receives 7thaspect from moon and debl. jupiter in the 10th. Also sat. happens to be sitting in the 2nd. house. on the face of it It seems to be a sattwik bhakti path- At the same time sat. depicts yoga and ascetic path if we consider its aspect too. I'm getting a bit muddled here.I don't have the great brain of a jyotishi but as far as spiituality goes- I seem to get pulled in all sorts of directions here. mars in 5,ve in 8, Rahu - AMK in the 9th and mer in 11th. pl. help me understand if you have the time. thanks, anu. - <pvr <vedic astrology> Friday, January 10, 2003 10:50 AM [vedic astrology] Re: Spiritual paths from D-20 (Re: Samkhya, Yoga, Vedanta, Jaimini sutras) > Namaste, > > > Let me make a comment on the spiritual path that appeals to one. > > Look at vimsamsa as that relates to spiritual matters.
