Guest guest Posted January 14, 2003 Report Share Posted January 14, 2003 Dear All Listed members, As tomorrow is Uttarayana Punya Kala,there will be an auspicious function everywhere and in Udipi Sri Krishna Temple ( Installed by Sri Madhva Acharya,founder of Dwaita Sidhanta ),there is festival called Churnotsav.Here every year a miracle happens as in the morning during Makara Lagna ie.,between 7-30 AM to 9-30 AM ,the Utsava Murthy of Lord Krishna with Lord Hanuman (Sri Mukhya Prana ) will be brought after the moring poojas to a big Ratha (Car ).Then after the special poojas to Lord Krishna and Sri Mukhya Prana ,the people will start pull the Car.But it will not move even a fraction of a millimetre till a Garuda Pakshi ( Lord Vishnu's Vehicle ) comes and makes Pradakshina to the Ratha (Car ) 3 times.Many people tried to pull the Car every Year but they fail and only after the Garuda makes a Pradakshina,then only the Ratha will start moving.If anybody is interested to see this miracle next year same day ,they can visit this Famous Temple of Sri Krishna.This Temple is situated near port city of Mangalore 50 KMs in sea coast.There is also Sri Ananteshwara Temple nearby to this Sri Krishna Temple and this temple is supposed to be built by Arjuna of Mahabharata and After the Maha Pooja in this temple,the Poojas in Sri Krishna Temple will start.
