Guest guest
Hello Sriram, Sanjayji had given a very good explanation for aspects of a retrograde planet. He said that a retrograde planet is like a person walking backwards. So the aspects are in the same direction as when the planet is stationary or in in direct motion. Guest guest
Dear Visti, Is it true that: 1) Retro planets sometimes can give the effect of the preceding house placement ? 2) Retro planets indicate a special emphasis in the house in which they are positioned indicating unfulfilled desires and actions. I read somewhere that retro Jupiter in 6th means native will get opportunities to do something which has been unsuccessfull for others (ie- failed projects of others). Guest guest
hamsa om soham I am not happy with our understanding of retrogression.....as usual, the blanket statements bother me :-) There are a few concepts that are closely intertwined here. Given a planet's longitude, we still have to consider (a) its declination, or kranti and (b) its planetary motion made up of speed and direction. I would love it if someone would speak up on a planet's declination. This is one of the most fundamental things about a planet's placement, and we don't even consider it ! Although there are standard things about retrogression, the results really do depend on the grahas involved. For example, imagine Angaraka and Guru at the moment at which they are stationary (about to become retrograde). Mars is a tamasik, fiery, kshatriya. Jupiter is a satwik, ethery, brahmin. Thus, this placement can be very good for Guru who is naturally contemplative. However, Mars will feel bound like a prisoner. If this Guru is in the 11th from AL, he might be too busy contemplating to actually give the native any material gains. Similarly, imagine a graha who is at half of his normal speed. He might have just come out of retrogression, or he might be about to go into retrogression. Obviously, the results will differ. We can also consider a retrograde planet who has gone back into his exaltation house, and a retrograde planet who has gone back into his debilitation house. So, retrogression cannot be considered independantly of a planet's placement, motion, or karakatwa. ajit - <raja_gopal_r (AT) hotmail (DOT) com> <vedic astrology> Thursday, February 27, 2003 4:36 PM [vedic astrology] Re: Retrograde Planets > Dear Visti,> > Is it true that:> > 1) Retro planets sometimes can give the effect of the preceding house > placement ?> > 2) Retro planets indicate a special emphasis in the house in which > they are positioned indicating unfulfilled desires and actions.> > I read somewhere that retro Jupiter in 6th means native will get > opportunities to do something which has been unsuccessfull for others > (ie- failed projects of others).> > Raj> > --- In vedic astrology, "Visti Larsen" <vishnu@l...> > wrote:> > Hare Rama Krsna> > > > --> ------------> > > > Dear Sunit,> > I have answered this querry to you personally in the past. > > "The native has very high hopes for themself, and these > hopes/desires are hard to fulfill."> > > > Best wishes> > Visti> > ---> > Sri Jagannath Center: http://.org> > Bhagavad Purana: http://www.srimadbhagavatam.org> > iTRANS 99 Font: http://www.omkarananda-ashram.org> > - > > Aum <studd2hott> > > vedic astrology > > Sent: Thursday, February 27, 2003 9:17 AM> > [vedic astrology] Re: Aspects of retrograde planets on > Lagna> > > > > > Dear Friends,> > Thank you for your response...but all I am asking is the effect > of > > the 3 retrograde planets on the lagna by aspect. Guest guest
Dear Ajit Krishnan, I have two planets retrogated which are aspecting each other by rashidrishti. One is jupiter in Aq (in 3rd house) which is vargottam and Mercury in Libra(in 11th house) which is in Pi in navamasa(so planet become neecha and Retrogated in navamasa). Now as both are aspecting each other by rashi dristhi does that indicate both are in mutual understanding with each other. Guest guest
hamsa om soham Dear Parag, guru and budha are placed in trikonas from one another showing harmonious nature. Having drishti on one another does not show mutual understanding (do you always understand the neighbours across the street from you?). Try to read the Jyotish Digest article on the Sun-Moon-Rahu chakra to see how sight/drishti can be used. ajit - "parag dharmadhikari" <dparagin <vedic astrology> Friday, February 28, 2003 4:37 AM Re: [vedic astrology] Re: Retrograde Planets > Dear Ajit Krishnan, > > I have two planets retrogated which are aspecting each > other by rashidrishti. > One is jupiter in Aq (in 3rd house) which is vargottam > and Mercury in Libra(in 11th house) which is in Pi in > navamasa(so planet become neecha and Retrogated in > navamasa). Now as both are aspecting each other by > rashi dristhi does that indicate both are in mutual > understanding with each other. > > Regards > Parag > > --- Ajit Krishnan <astro wrote: > > hamsa om soham > > > > I am not happy with our understanding of > > retrogression.....as usual, the blanket statements > > bother me :-) > > > > There are a few concepts that are closely > > intertwined here.
