Om Namo Narayanaya,

Dear Janna,

Unless you are well versed in Rashi/Lagna kundhali, you will hardly be able to

correctly and meaningfull use

Navamsa kundhali.

Yet here are a few riders:

Navamsa kundhali relates to dharma, and what is dharma? This is what we carry

from the previous birth and shall

take it into

the next one. Dharma of each human is to prolong human spicies

(marriage/children), or to get "union:" with God

in some

cases where person remains out of marriage yet gives spirituality and has

spiritual children (5th house-shishyas)

That is why 11th (fruits)

of 9th house (dharma) is marriage(7th house). Navamsa is great trinity(3 from

3). There are 9 navamsas in each

sign, and 4 navamsa (pada)

in eacn Nakshatra. Each navamsa thus follow certain ayana(dharma, artha, kama,

moksha). Further each navamsa is

under the influence of

Brahma/Vishnu and Shiva, and thus may be classified as Deva, Manushya and

Rakshasa.Navamsa relates to innate

tendencies which may mould

the native's life. Inspite of approach of Shri K.N. Rao, who opines that

Karakasmh is seen from Lagna Kundhali

(rashi where atmakarak is placed)

we at SJC opine that Karakams is rashi in Navamsa kundhali where Atmakarak Graha

is placed. The first we call

Karakamshaka, so there is no

disagreement about it yet, only in name. The relationship between Atmakarak

(soul) and Karakamsh (desire of the

soul) will determine whether

we shall fulfill our dharma, so as you can see Navamsa kundhali has far, far

more depth that people ordinarily

think.

For a start:

1. Treat it as Rashi kundhali, and see the impact of graha placed therein

2. Grahas in trines or strongly influencing trines may mould a person's life and

even profession,

though professional aspect is best seen in Dashamsa Kundhali

7. Analyze Karya Bava-Karya bava is 7th house and karak Shukra. Darakarak should

also be seen(char karak)

Further link rashi kundhali with navamsa kundhali:

1. See navamsa dispositor of a concerned lord from Rashi kundhali, and assess

his position in both rashi/navamsa

2. See Rashi-Tulya navamsa techique (there is an article in www..org

under lessons)

3. Exalted grahas in navamsa are good even though debilitated in Rashi kundhali

and vice versa

This is for a start..

if you use these rules properly, new dimensions will come..

I am stopping here, since I do not want to do unjustice to this precious tool of

Vedic astrology..

I am writting a book in English which will deal with all difficult areas for

beginners, and I am doing hard at

the moment to make this edition really unique. In future, I am planning to give

a separate edition which will

only deal with Navamsa kundhali, to do justice to this secondary most important

Varga. Only Shasitamsh Lagna

has been given more importance by Parashara and sages.
