Guest guest
Dear Gordon and all, That was the reason that I mentioned the altitude (which by the way was not 1000 miles but only around 40.5 miles). Even the exact coordinate can not be fixed for the exact time of the event as at a speed of 19000 Km/hour (11806 miles/hour) they will change in every fraction of a second ... There were several discussions in the past (on several lists) in connection with the calculation and/or validity of charts in space (i.e. above the surface of earth and into space) and as far as I can recall (since back in 1996) no one had a convincing answer yet, only guesses. Kind regards Jay Weiss - GWBrennan (AT) aol (DOT) com vedic astrology Sunday, February 02, 2003 9:47 AM Re: [vedic astrology] Space Shuttle disaster Dear Jay and allThe shuttle exploded about 1000 miles above the surface of the earth above Palestine, Texas. If you use coordinates for Palestine it will be well out due to height. If there are any astute astronomers out there they might know what the difference is. When I have remembered how to calculate it (trigonometry) I'll write again if noone has given the information). Also has anyone noticed the birthdate of Kalpana Chawala was the same as Princess Di, who was born on 1/7/61 7.45 pm in Sandringham, England.RegardsGordon Archives: vedic astrologyGroup info: vedic astrology/info.htmlTo UNSUBSCRIBE: Blank mail to vedic astrology-....... Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Jay, Lets walk through the basics. Why do we use a geo-centric model for the zodiac when we know that the earth is also a planet revolving around the Sun? The point is the concept of "MY WORLD" or the "I" or ego called Ahamkara which causes us to live in the illusion of permanence in this life, and which extends into our philosophies like the concept of the Atmakaraka. The moot point it we are bringing to focus the positions of the stars in the heavens 'around' the individual himself and that is why we are not only using a geo-centric model, but also using the co-ordinates of the place of birth. What happens in space? The paradigm and the principle follows. The exact location of birth has to pinpointed and the star positions are to be ascertained based on this as the focus or center. Now what about Lagna?? Start thinking again....is there a method of transposing it? What happens if birth is in the Moon and we know that one face of the Moon is always turned towards the sun like Shiva always facing the East (Sun) in meditation...lots to think about..
