Dear Members:

I've read that placement of Jupiter in Lagna is extremely auspicious.

However, when Jupiter transits through the moon rashi,i.e. using moon

as the 1st house, it is considered inauspicious. Why is this?

What is the difference between Jupiter in Lagna and Jupiter's transit

through moon sign where moon becomes the lagna?

I've spent a lot of time on-line trying to figure this out withoug

success so I'd appreciate if someone shines some light on this

subject.Thank you

The effect of transits could not akin to effect of birth placement. Thought

there is some identical situation too, e.g. uppachay bhava is good for

pap-graha not only in gochar but also in natal chart placement wise.

But there are counter examples too, like in transit, second Moon (from natal

chandra lagna) is considered unfavourable (according to traditional Parashara

approach) but in natal chart second Moon in second house is assumed quite good.

You have asked why Jupiter's move in 1st house is unfavourable. Bepin Behari

told that first Jupiter is difficult position, under the assumption that the

quantum of its radiation is so intense in this bhava that it gets completely

disturbed, devastating. But all this happen in order to enable the individual

to be a chalice for the divine downpour as Jupiter is the true wisdom or hope

that comes to men by God's grace.

Think among three natural benefics (Ju, Ve and Mo) only Jupiter's transit over

lagna (natal chandra lagna) is not good, otherwise Venus and Moon's gochar on

the said position is auspicious !!!
