Hi folks,

An address book virus is on the loose. It's very rampant, and there's a good

chance that you'll find it in your PC too. The virus is called jdbgmgr.exe and

isn't detected by antivirus software (not yet, anyway). The virus sits quietly

for 14 days before damaging the system. It is sent automatically through the

address book, whether or not you send e-mails to your contacts.

Do a search for the said exe file in your system. If you find it (with a teddy

icon), just delete it for good.

Warm regards,

It not the virus, is natural file Windows.

Yes, it is not a Virus but a windows file used to Java

script debugging. I would not recomend deletion as it

may stop some of your programms running.

Dear Tony, Chandra, and Ramapriya,

Yes…the “teddy bear hoax” has been around for a while, however there IS a

legitimate virus currently on the loose affecting address books. I have deleted

the infected emails both yesterday and today, as Norton did detect the virus and

this is the case, this virus was discovered on March 7th.) I update my .dat

files daily for virus protection, so I’m just not certain.

However, for a “heads up”, it is coming from the address book of Sumit Seth…(See

the following 2 messages from Norton below for the Subject matter:)

Also, I am not sure if Sumit is a list member on this particular group, as
