Jaimini has only reiterated what Parashara states. Ref: Chapter 32 of BPHS gives Indications of the Planetary Karakas. Best Wishes. Ashwin. Guest guest
Namaste, In assessing a chart, we comeacross different sort of Karaka(indicators), among them two i.e. Sthira and Chara are known (to me). The former one is used when the chart is observed with respect to Parashara's priciples while later one is consider an essential part of Jaimini system. Though they may generally apply at a time when taking an integrated appraoch. While in a article of Sanjay Rath (on Arudhapada in the archive of this list) I confronted a sentence which says, Sthira, Chara and Naisargika should also be taken into consideration. TASK: What is the difference in considering the three types of Karakas Would anyone on this forum can explain the difference and application of mentioned three types of Karaka. Guest guest
Hi Imran I'm a novice But still here are my two cents. Sthira karakas are governed by Shiva - The Destroyer and should be used for determining death of near & dear ones including relatives and demolition of relationships with them. Chara Karakas are governed by Vishnu - The Sustainer and should be considered for spiritual growth & progress. They provide vital information about soul's journey & progress. Naisargika Karakas are governed by Brahma - The Creator & should be used for all purposes' basically for Phalita jyotish. All what I mentioned is read/understood from PVR NArsihma'a excellant book - 'Vedic Astrology - An Integrated Approach'. Guest guest
Dear M, The Naisargika Karaka are the ones you've always known. Mars is Karaka for brother, fights, etc. Moon is karaka for mother, mind, etc. Nothing new here, just a terminology given. Best wishes, Visti. ---- Original Message ---- vedic astrology vishnu Time: 10 Mar 2003 08:15 Re: [vedic astrology] The Chara, Sthira and Naisargika Karaka > >Respected Gurus and Dear Friends, > >Namaste, > >In assessing a chart, we comeacross different sort of Karaka(indicators), among them two i.e. Sthira and Chara are known (to me).
