Guest guest
Dear sir/madam, Please don't mind, but what do you give in foundation courses? I think that any good Indian classic has the fundamental info in it. Only for the advanced techniques, one has to ask some expert. Guest guest
Dear Farrukh, The course is to be taken by my Guru, not by myself so I have no self interest in this. However, having tried to learn the "essential basics" from a book I personally found it difficult and sometime confusing. Once I took formal classes the subject became far clearer and enjoyable to me. This approach of self learning may however have been suitable for others different from myself and I guess that this has worked for you. I have been taught that Jyotish is a classical Oral tradition that requires a Guru-Student relationship for the subject to really take life. There are also many books each with different approaches and styles. However a genuine learned guru will have his own style and the student will have the opportunity to ask questions or ask for clarification. This I believe is a rare opportunity as there are very few good teachers - especially in the United Kingdom. The headings I have given for the foundation course are only summarised headings, I was not able to type up all the details on the note. For example, the Timing of Events Section covers the unique Vimsottari Dasha System - how it is calculated and applied to ascertain the timing of past and future events in a person or nation's life - and the use of planetary transits. Guest guest
Dear AM, You are absolutely right. One needs to select some Guru and learn from him, because as I see it there are a million approaches to astrology. So, its better to select someone and say to yourself that this person can't say anything wrong, and everything that he calls wrong is wrong. No need to study other texts, other systems of astrology!
