Namaste Listmembers,

Dear Chandrashekhar,

Astrodienst may be referring to Daylight Saving

Time which is -11hrs East of GMT. If I remember correctly, DST came into effect

around 1975.

Australian Eastern Standard Time is -10hrs.

I have a copy of the International Atlas by Thomas G Shanks which states

-10hrs was in use in 1901.

The Federation of Australia was well planned, the details finalised and

formal agreement reached between states/colonies well in advance of 1st Jan.

The 1st was to be a day of celebration. Of course the British, champions of

pomp and ceremony, were not about to let the day go by without long speeches,

signing of documents, brass bands and the who's who of aristocracy and wealthy

land owners.

Of course it can be argued the signing by state representatives at

approximately 1.30pm can be taken, but that chart just doesn't resonate with

me.

I like the Virgo ascendent; she is a delicate country. Lagna lord in 4th

within 1deg of Jupiter in Mula seems appropriate as we were federated for the

benefit of the Commonwealth. It was never considered that we may stand on our

own, in fact, Oz becoming a Republic is very hotly contested even now.

Four planets in the 4th house, including Saturn and Sun is indicative of a

wide brown land. Our pioneers could easily be described as sannysins

It may boil down to personal preference. I'll stick with 12.01am, feels like

home to me :)

Warm Regards,

Ann.
