Book on Astrology

Hello Everybody,

 

I am a new member in the group. I basically use

computer software to make astrological charts and I am

just a novice in this field. I had couple of books

with me (most of them are in hindi), but none of the

book seem to provide the basics right. I have learnt

something but some confusions are there. Like say in

one particular Lagna (leo), sun is the lord of first

house while in another it will be lord of another. How

to find, 1st, IInd ... and so on lords for particular

lagna.

 

What is the diff. between Dir. and Ret.

 

Can anyone suggest me some excellent book, which can

build a strong foundation on basics of astrology.

 

One query is i have a chart of Meen Lagna, in which

there are three planets in seveth house (venus, Rahu,

Mars). Is it +ve or negative, venus and mars are Dir.

Rahu is Ret and in sixth house there is a combination

of (mercury, sun and sat).

 

Can anyone suggest some good book, which provide all

the necessary information on the basics of astrology

without confusion.

Darpan, Bhrigu sahinta...but basics as per my feelings

are still not correctly known to me. A book which

tells everything.

I think, "Elements of Vedic Astrology" by Dr. K.S.Charak (in two

volumes), will be a good start for you.

Dear Neeraj

The perfect book for you is "Vedic Astrology- An intergrated approach

by Narasimha Rao- If you are in India you can get it from Sagar or

in a number of places- OR if you are in USA you can get it from the

SJC web site at the "lakshmi store' , www.srijaganntha.org -

also there are alot of articles for you to read in

the "files"section of the -groups and at the web site-

also check Sanjays site for articles srath.com

First learn all the basics, otherwise you are wasting your time at

this point to memorize so many things from these other books.First

learn/understand grahas,rashis,aspects,various lagnas etc 100% then

the rest will all fall into place.So you are on the right path

looking for basic book.

Hello Shyaam,

Thanks for the information. I live in Delhi, India. I

searched this book. Can you or somebody else please

tell me some place in delhi or india from where i can

purchase this book. It is published by Uma

publications. If anyone has the address of Uma

publications. I can contact them.
