Guest guest
hamsa om soham Dear Chandrashekhar, Astronomical events (sankranti, tithi, nakshatra, ...) occur at a single moment, regardless of lat / lon. Thus, you can "correct" these easily based on time zones. The only regional variations are with: 1) sunrise / sunset, moonrise / moonset. Instead of correcting, get the exact time from your weather channel / newspaper. 2) rahu kalam etc when calculated from sunrise/sunset. 3) festival / vrata dates - these have non-trivial methods of reckoning. A simple correction is not possible. This effort was started because I wasn't happy with approximations. I would be happy to expand the list of places for which panchangas are generated (within reason). I am hesitant to add any more places within India--In fact I wanted to remove all Indian locations. There are very good regional Indian panchangas available. The point of this effort was not to displace these panchangas, but to provide something for areas where nothing is current available. The omission was deliberate. ajit - Chandrashekhar vedic astrology Thursday, April 03, 2003 10:43 AM Re: [vedic astrology] Swabhanu Mudgala Panchanga Dear Ajit, A very good panchanga developed by you.
