Guest guest
Dear Members: In BPHS, Sage Parashara states under Ch. 39 Shloka 12: Even, if a single Grah gives a Drishti to the natal Lagn, or Hora Lagn, or Ghatik Lagn, the native will become a king. Now what I heard about this was that the grah giving drishti to HL or GL has to establish some kind of relationship (drishti/ownership/conjoin) with lagna without which this yog would not be formed. However, the language of the shloka translation above states something different. So how exactly should one interpret this combination for Raj yog? Namaste. Rageshwari. Guest guest
Dear Rageshwari, Brihat parashara Hora sara was written by collecting shlokas by Pt. Oza, if I remember right. These were caried from generatio to generation and it is possible that some Apabhransha(Incorrect pronounciations or mutation of the original words) might have crept in. There is also another shloka which says that a single planet has to aspect Hora Lagna Ghatika Lagna and Natal Lagna for rajyoga to take place. Again in chapter 24 shloka 7 BPHS states"7. If Lagn’s Lord is a malefic and is placed in Yuvati Bhava, the native’s wife will not live (long). If the Grah in question is a benefic, one will wander aimlessly, face penury and be dejected." Here a planet would be aspecting the Lagna, and the indication is contra to what is said in the shloka reffered by you. It is also a practice to rationalise when two apparent contrary statements are noticed attributed to the sages, and treating the yoga to be cased by a planet aspecting all three i.e. Hora lagna, Ghatika lagna and Natal Lagna would be appropriate.
