Guest guest
Dear Sirs, what are the significance of these yogas and Karanas. Are they used in the predictions. My father and me share the same birth yoga - Dhriti (recently there are many clashes between us is it because we share the same birth yoga?) My Karana is Taitila. Seek comments from you all. Guest guest
Jaya JagannathDear Shubhangi, Although the yogas and karanas are mostly used in electional astrology (Muhurtha Jyotish), the priciples can also be applied in Natal Horoscopy. Let me give a brief explanation on the Yogas and Karanas. Yoga: Among the pancha tattvas associated with the Pancha-Anga (panchanga), Yoga is associated with Akash Tattva. This is arrived at by additing the longitudes of the Sun and the Moon. We know that the addition of Sun and Moon leads us to Jupiter (Vimshottari Dasa Scheme). Jupiter is the ruler of the Akash Tattva, which helps in binding all other tattvas. Thus Yoga represent the binding force in the Natives lives, i.e., the relationships. In the table which I gave, you can see that Dhriti is lorded by Rahu and Rahu's placement in the horoscope shall indicate the nature of the relationships in your life. In the absense of horoscope, I can't say more. Karana: Karana shows the success of achievment of the objective of the Muhurtha as it is ruled by Prthvi tattva. In the natal chart, we can see how often you get successes in your endeavours. This is seen from the placement of the lord of the Karana, which is Mercury in your case. Nowhere it is mentioned, that having the same karana leads to clashes between the parent and child. If this is a rare happening then you can see the answer from the Dasa Antardasa, however if it happens often you might like to see placements like Sun in oposition to AL, Sun - Saturn placed together or in opposition or such combinations.
