I saw your mail in which you made some excellent points. Thought I'd add my 2 cents.

Rasis (signs) show situations, places and things. Grahas (planets) show people.

 

Arudha padas of houses show the material manifestation of the house matters.

While the 5th house, for example, shows one's abilities - which are intangible,

strictly speaking - the tangible manifestation of one's abilities is really

shown by A5 (arudha pada of 5th house). The awards one wins, the recognition

one gets and the trophies one accumulates etc are shown by A5 instead of the

5th house. Always, houses show intangible things, which their arudhas show

tangible things.

 

Similarly, graha arudha padas (arudha padas of planets) show how various people

manifest in one's life.

 

You can read Pt. Sanjay Rath's "Narayana Dasa" book to see an example of the use

of graha arudhas. He explains what influence Gandhi, Bose, Patel etc had on

Nehru, using graha arudhas.

 

Let me take your chart as an example. I am enclosing mu.gif, which shows your

rasi chart and dual graha arudha chart (computed using JHora 5.0, which is

commercially available now) in south Indian chart format. In the dual graha

arudha chart, Ma1 shows the arudha of Mars corresponding to Aries (1st sign)

and Ma8 shows the arudha of Mars corresponding to Scorpio (8th sign). And so

on.

 

Let us take the example of your Cancer lagna girlfriend. Moon's arudha

(corresponding to Cancer) is in Cancer, i.e. 8th house. So her main impact on

you is that of Moon in Cancer, i.e. in 8th house. Though 8th lord in 8th may

normally be good, 8th house is the marana karaka sthana for Moon and hence

quite bad.

 

The main impact on you by an Aquarius lagna (or Aquarius strong) person would be

that of Saturn placed in Capricorn, 2nd house from your lagna. The reason is

that Sa11 (Saturn's arudha corresponding to the 11th sign, Aquarius) is in

Capricorn. That is a decent placement. The effect on you would be positive.

 

But, Sa10 - Saturn's arudha corresponding to the 10th sign, Capricorn - is in

Scorpio, i.e. 12th house. So the impact of a Capricorn lagna person (or a

Capricorn strong person) on you is that of Saturn in Scorpio. Saturn in 12th

gives losses, disappointments and unhappiness. So, that would be the effect of

a Capricorn lagna person on you. She would kind of zap your spirits.

 

OTOH, let us take a look at your girlfriend with Gemini lagna. Mercury's arudha

corresponding to Gemini (Me3 in the enclosed file mu.gif) is in Capricorn. So

the impact of a Gemini lagna person or a Gemini strong person on you is that of

Mercury in your 2nd house. Relationship with such a person has a very positive

effect on you. It will make you happy, prosperous, successful and learned in

astrology and philosophy, i.e. relationship with her will be conducive to all

these things.

 

As another example, notice that Ve2 (arudha of Venus corresponding to the 2nd

sign - Tasurus) is in Libra, your 11th house. Evren though Taurus is the 6th

house from your lagna and its lord Venus is an enemy of your lagna lord

Jupiter, still a Taurus lagna native would have a positive effect on you and

bring gains and happiness.

 

One can also say another thing in general. Using the graha arudha chakra instead

of dual graha arudha chakra, you can see what kind of people come into your

life, generally speaking, during an antardasa of Vimsottari dasa. Antardasa

lord throws light on the people who enter your life during the period. In your

case, lagna has 6 planets in quadrants from it and Moon has no planets in

quadrants. Clearly, lagna Vimsottari dasa will dominate heavily over standard

Moon Vimsottari dasa in your case.

 

You ran Rahu antardasa in Rahu dasa during 1998-2001. Rahu's graha arudha is in

Capricorn. Rahu in the 2nd house is a bad placement. Thus, a majority of the

people entering your life then would bring friction in domestic life,

unhappiness, harsh speech etc. Now, you are running Jupiter antardasa.

Jupiter's graha arudha is in Gemini. This antardasa can bring importqant people

into your life, who have a more calming influence on you and bring out the

virtues in you.
