Drazen, most likely JHL is using the Sri Pati method. With that you

multiplythe cheshta x the ucca and then take the sware root to get the

Ishta. The BPHS was is to take the average of the Cheshta and the Ucca.

If you try to use the sri pati method this is what happens. If theplanet is at

deep debilitation its Ucca is 0. If it is retrograde andhas high Cheshta, say

50 out of 60 for instance. When you multyply 0times 50 you get zero, which

means the planet is no good at all, so thestatement that a retrograde planet

helps to overcome debilitation is notproven.

[JyotishVidya] Ishta & Kashta / Ernst

Dear Ernst

Refering on your previous post, I supouse that JHL software does not calculate

Ishta and Kashta values according to BPHS, as non of the total values is 60 !!

Naturaly, the values presented in JHL are different from KALA software.

Unfortunaly, I dont have other software that provide Ishta Kashta calculations

for compare.Could you please explaine.

Thanks very much.
