Aum Namah Shivaya

Dear Gauranga,

Namaste.

Interesting observations. But may I quickly bring to your notice a

small discrepancy that you must have overlooked? You wrote:

The 11th house is elder brothers (or sisters) and the 3rd house

younger siblings, though the 3rd can be taken to be siblings in

general at times. Let us look at it this way. If the 11th is my elder

brother and third the younger one, what would the 3rd from 11th

indicate? Shouldn't it indicate myself since I am my elder brother's

younger brother? And that's exactly what it is. The 1st (self) is the

3rd from the 11th.

I am sure you know this and that you just overlooked while writing.

But I am writing this just in case any beginner is reading the post.

It is for them. As for you I just wanted to bring it to your notice.

While your observations are interesting, in my experience, I found it

hard to predict or read the kula, varna etc consistently from the

charts. Once in a while, *retrospectively*, yes. But I found it

difficult to apply it in *actual* practice *consistently* in a

meaningful way. There must be something more to it.

Thanks for sharing your observations.

Hare Krsna.

Regards,

Satya

Virgo is an even sign, so this is why I reversed the count and took 3rd

house from Virgo (i.e. Scorpio) to indicate elder sibligs while 11th

(Cancer) to indicate younger ones. Iám sorry that I did not claqrify this.

It might actually be confusing for beginners.

I think that one fo the reasons could be that nowadays people have real

mixed families, so no clear indication of Varna would be there. In Vedic

times it must have worked more properly. So basically what we can do

nowadays is to thoroughly analyse the placement and association of the lord

of the Varanada Lagna for vocational determination, and to check the Moon's

position adn association for psychological qualities of the native. He might

as well perform the job of a Kshatriya while having the mentality of a

Vaishya or Shudra. So for marital compatibility we match the Moon signs, so

that the wife's varna were not higher than the hisbands. By the way, some

astrologers take earth signs for Vaishyas and air signs for shudras, and

others the other way around. What woudl be your opinion?
