Hi there,

Could someone tell me which is better as a jupiter remedy, Yellow

Saphire or Yellow Topaz and is it okay to have it set in a pendant or

does it have to be a ring. Thanks for your help.

Hi Surj,

Yellow sapphire it should be. You can wear it as part of either a ring or

pendant, as long as it touches your skin.

Dear Surj,

it depends on your chart. If your Moon is in weaker dignity in the

Shadvargas than Mars, then take the Topaz, if Mars is weaker take the

Sapphire.

Rings are better generally than pendants as the stone will always touch

the skin- just make sure that the stone is set 2-3 millimeters below the

edge of the ring.

I guess it's not always easy to distinquish the two- for ex: My lagnesh Moon is

in Scorpio/deb, deb cancelled: Mars angular. Now, we learnt that LL is the

strongest, then this particular situation, I'd say Mars is stronger, but it

opposes the first rule?

Then, what's the difference btw Topaz/Y.sapphire based upon?

I don't wear my yellow Sapphire since Jup. came to Cn- I feel it's not good for

my health- otherwise, I don't know..Would you please comment.

Btw: I enjoy your book- it's esthetically nicely arranged, pleasure for eyes/even/Thnks.

Hi to all,

I have one doubt about this story about gems.

I think it is very important whether a gem is cut or uncut but I haven't seen

anybody mentioned that....maybe I am wrong...

Best regards.

Ognjen

PS. why is so necessary for gems to be transparent? I have seen opinion that

transparent gems relates more on spiritual realm and non-transparent on

material?

Oh, I'd be damned if gems were to be uncut!! It's only when they're shaped that

light passing thru them gets concentrated in a desirable manner. Not having

definitive material on this, I hazard a guess, purely on uncommon commonsense,

that gems should be cut :o)

Dear Ramapriya,

I find illogical that gems should be cut. Gems are natural way of manifesting

the qualities of grahas so I think that they should remain uncut. Nowadays,

gems are cut mainly because broken pieces of some larger gem are presented like

nature, flawless gems 'cause of a higher price.

Dear Ognjen,

As far as I'm concerned, the considerations for gem-cutting are more or less

comparable to why crude oil or natural gas is refined into various products

like petrol, LPG, etc. The natural form of substances isn't necessarily their

best or most optimal form. Unless you believe the higher price that cut gems

fetch is merely an upshot of something merely esthetic.

Dear Ongjen,

I have not found size or cut or other wise mentioned wrt gems in astrological

works. The logic behind, mostly using cut gem is that you can see impurities

with beter clarity and avoid such gem. Also during cut some inpurities can be

cut off the gem. If the gem is true representative of the Planet in terms of

Colour its shade etc, and provided it does not have any impurities, it can be

worn. Or at least this is what I deduce after going through the texts and

applying my Viveka( sense of proportions).

Dear Chandrashekhar,

I would just want to know about the transparency of gems. I think scriptures

Dear Ernest,

I am puzzled how did you mix Mars and Moon in the story about a gem for Jupiter.

Maybe because Mars and Moon governs signs in trine with respect to Pisces? Or is

it something specific to that natal chart? What is the logic behind all this? It

is beyond my reach, please advise.

Thank you in advance.

Dear Ogngen,

A stone has to be without blemish. So when it is a stone like saffire ,Diamond

or Ruby, being transparent helps check is any impurities are present. In case

of Gems loke Corral,Pearl and good quality Emerald, by their very origin they

are opaque or some times semi transperant. Here one should check for any off

colour blemishes.

Dear Ognjen,

just as you can not look at any one planet in your horoscope with

considering all the other planets, a gem has many facets to it besides its

color, so whereas on one level, the level of color, it may relate to Jupiter,

on another it could relate to any of the other planet's.

There are several considrations that make gems have there varying effects, there

is density, hardness, refractive index, color, crystal structure, formation, and

whether it is transparent or opaque. Most gems have been categorzied

astrologically primary by the colors only.

Ernst Wilhelm
