AL and Lagna.

Hello everyone,

I have been reading some of the post and often see some of our leanred members

using AL position as the lagna while some using natrual lagna to predict

results.

 

Zoranji analyzed a chart and he used AL position to conclude much of his

predictions.

 

I would enjoy hearing everyones views on this. I mention my view on this matter

as below which by no means is the final word.

 

I think lagna and lagnesh should be considered in my opinion for predicting

results because it is the true representation of a person. AL rather I feel is

more inclined towards how the world envisions us and how people see us. We might

be what people think of us or we might not be what people think of us.

 

Also I wonder if it is appropriate to mix Jaimini Sutras with Prashara's

predictive approach. Since I feel they are two different approaches all

together. It is like arguing if Bhava chart is useful or if rashi chart is

useful. I suppose every branch has its own set of rules which when mixed tends

to become confusing and led to inaccurate predictions.

 

For Example I will take the following chart

 

6 Aug 1980

12:03am

bombay

 

Just for the thumbs up the chart is aries acendent, mars and saturn in 6th

house,moon is in 2nd house, 3rd house has venus, 4th house has mer + sun + rahu,

5th house has jupiter and 10th house has ketu. AL falls in the 11th house.

 

Now if we look at the natural lagna it is aspected by jupiter and mars (lord of

lagna) also mars and Saturn combination occurs in the 6th house which according

to parashara is a beneficial place for malefic planets since its upachaya house.

8th house is being aspected by saturn karka for longetivity and lagna itself as

mentioned is being aspected by lagnesh and jupiter again meaning or pointing

towards good health in general.

 

But now when we look from AL, things change, the 8th house for AL has saturn and

mars combination. Again if I were to reason out the following way that saturns

placement in 8th from AL will boost logetivity at the sametime AL is being

aspected by jupiter (longetivity and health) etc. But I will not reason it this

way I will rather reason it this way.

 

Since Maharishi Jaimin mentions that the AL is a manifestion or illusion of our

self. It is merely an illusion and does not infact reflect true self. It is what

the world preceives. Now based on this logic I will reason out the following.

 

6th from AL has sun+mer+rahu, it is said that if malefics are present in 3rd or

6th from AL then this is good for materaliztic prsuit and if benefic are present

it is good for spritiual pursuits. What Ive come to observe is that they are

illussion that we create in the minds of the people that sourround us.

 

What Im trying to point out is the fact that if matters are studied from AL then

it will not give a true description of the self but rather how the world

preveices the person.

 

Now from AL we have mars and saturn placed in the 8th, 8th stands for mrityu

bhava and also rules wills and money from underground sources and power

struggles. Perhaps it could be equally possible that mars in saturn in 8th from

AL might represent that the public views the native has having received a lot of

money from undgergound sources say wills or by power struggles and manipulation

after all 8th house stands for that.

 

But I think the true representation will be given on by the 8th from lagna how

he will be and how his 8th house matters will fair.

 

 

AN IMPORTANT POINT I FEEL: When we consider shoola dasa for timing accidents and

events and even death in logetivity analysis. We treat the stronger of the

natural langa and 7th and start the dasa. We do not treat the strong of AL and

the 7th from AL to start the dasa sequence for self. So it is logical that using

AL as the lagna for predicting matters of a native is bound to be erronious

since it will be the world view about the native but infact the native might be

very different from how the world views him.

 

So I feel that if a person asks about health,wealth marriage and so on then we

use the lagna or in special cases the moon as the acedent and work from there.

Only if moon is exceptionally strong and the house in which moon is placed is

also exceptiioinaly strong only then do we shift the acedent to the moon. But

otherwise I think one can make good predictions from the Lagna itself.

 

AL matters can be used to judge how the world is going to see a person. Say if

7th from AL is afflicted perhaps the world will view the marriage of the native

is not good. Wheare as in his house the native will be very happy of marriage.

Vice versa if 7th from AL is under benefic influene te world might view his

marriage a success where as in actual life his marriage might not be

successfull.
