Hi Narasimha,

 

I wanted to do this quite some time ago but hung on for reasons

unclear. I shouldn't have.

 

It's been too clear to me that my posts attracted quite an extreme

polarity of emotions, with seemingly no in-betweens. There have been

the very vocal ones who've dissented against the things I've written,

and there are these who write regularly in private to tell how much

they admire my style of writing. Being a very private person, I've

been as uncomfortable with the brickbats as I've been with the

bouquets. Anonymity is what I thrive on.

 

Most here have had their share of run-ins, you included, and I've

probably had it a lot more than the others. I know you value your

time dearly and I certainly don't want to take up any of that to

moderate what I write. That said, I'm sure you'll agree that the

number of irrelevant posts might reduce with my going, but they

certainly won't vanish from tomorrow. There are too many

ludicrous "Dear so-and-so, Thank you. Yours truly, so-and-so" kind of

mails and the even more inane "Dear so-and-so, You're welcome, so-and-

so" each day, and they'll continue doing the rounds; civil and polite

and nice and all that, unlike my mails if you were to believe those

vexed, but hopelessly irrelevant nonetheless.

 

I leave with neither joy nor regrets. Most of the people here are far

too prudish to take kindly to my ilk but it was fun for as long as it

lasted. Period. At least nobody died!

Just one thing whether or not it is relevant - I'm not at all either

uncaring or arrogant as many have moaned publicly here, and I'm not

in flesh the rascal I appear behind my words either.

 

I've twice in the past tried to leave this Group but the browser kept

showing the "This page can't be displayed" message. I hope the

combined prayers of the droves here who want me gone are answered at

least this time )
