Guest guest
List, Can someone tell me what date/month/year did Yukteshwar take to start of his Ayanamsa ? Guest guest
Dear Ash, Sri Yuktesvar never used that ayanamsa. In his book, the Holy Science, he gives the mean motion of the precession and Yugas, not the actual motion. I have been told that he used an ayanamsa close to Chitrapaksha. Later, a prominent discilpe of Paramahamsa Yogananda (Sri Yuktesvar's disciple) tried to determine the correct ayanamsa from hints given in the Holy Science, which they would of never attempted had what was in Holy Science meant to be an astrologically correct ayanamsa. Guest guest
Dear Ash, his disciple kept the 499 date and used the 50.3 second precession to come up with a value of 19 degrees some minutes for the year 1900. Have not found that ayanamsa to work. I worked on what was in the Holy Science for 6 years and came up with an ay anamsa that is 23 minutes less than Lahiri, which means you add 23 minutes to each planet in the chart. Have had much better results with this ayanamsa. This ayanamsa is based on the ayanamsa for the year 2228 to be 26:40. The coincidence based on my ayanamsa would be the year 317, approxiamately. It is hard to come up with the exact year of coincidence due to the varying motion of precession. But 317 would be within 2 years.
