Dear Lauren -

The revision is much welcome, especially the descriptions of the correspondence. However, pale yellow does look like yellow on my computer ... maybe you should use red, or teal. Ah...the sorrows of MS customers.

That's fine. I purposely made it yellow to differentiate it from the other blue sign as Peter said that the Light blue and the dark blue looked the same, that's all.

> Another thing, Donna: is the Trimsamsa D-30? I did a Web search and found it referred to as D-5. Furthermore, one would think it more logical that, as the chart is being divided into 5 parts, that it is actually D-5. Would appreciate any further insight, thanks.

Literally speaking the Trimsamsa is 1/30 division of a sign of 1 degree each, but in reality each sign is divided into 5 unequal parts, each part belonging to one of the five planets from Mars to Saturn as you see below.

ODD SIGNS

1. 0-5 Mars

2. 5-10 Saturn

3. 10-18 Jupiter

4. 18-25 Mercury

5. 25-30 Venus

EVEN SIGNS

1. 0-5 Venus

2. 5-12 Mercury

3. 12-20 Jupiter

4. 20-25 Saturn

5. 25-30 Mars

This is where you get your 5 divisions from and why you may see it referred to as a D-5 chart as well.

That's my understanding of it anyway.

But now it is yellow, which was color-coded for Earth signs. :)

Anyway, it's unimportant now, since as Peter said, the explanations

will do very nicely.

I can't quote the exact message right now, but back in Apr, in reply

to a post by Swee Chan, I believe it was Krushna who said there is no

1/30 division chart. I'll check back and quote the message later.

I think this was from www.jyotish.com

Thank you, Donna.

Best wishes,

Lauren

OH, man! I'm thinking that the earth signs were orange on yours too! OH well, as long as everyone reads the explanantions, like you said, it's not important, I guess.

Sorry about that. . .

> I think this was from www.jyotish.com

I found it from another source myself, but I admit, it's very confusing when you see Trimsamsa and think 1/30 and when then it's calculated out it's divided into unequal 5th's instead. And yet a D-5 according to Krushna is again a different chart than the Trimsamsa, because THAT is divided into 5 EQUAL parts (Panchamansa chart) rather than UNEQUAL parts like the Trimsamsa is. I will be sure to put this into the notes for future reference as well. . .

Dear Lauren,

D-5 chart is different then Trimshansha chart. D-5 char have

5 equal division based on Chal (Movable), Sthir (Fixed), and

Dwiswabhav (Dual) rashi, Known as Panchmansha chart.

thanks
