Guest guest
Dear Gurus, 1. Is Abhijit Muhurta – around 11.24 am to around 12.00 noon if Sunrise is at 6.00 am. 2. Can other auspicious activities apart from marriage be performed during Abhijit Muhurta If my thoughts are astray pls correct. This query is in reference to earlier post:- [sR]: Remember the dictum that all evils are destroyed at Abhijit Muhurta...that is what I was implying. Marriage chart is important but remember that dharma is the responsibility of the Brahmana. Kindly reply, many thanks Best wishes, Sunil JohnBest regards, Sunil John SBC DSL - Now only $29.95 per month!
Guest guest
Dear Sunil According to Narada Purana 8th muhurta of a day is Abhijit or Vidhi muhurta.MAtsya Purana calls it as Kutapa. It believed that this is till 24 miniutes after the noon (Sunrise at 6.00). The Narad puran further says that on wednesday Abhihit muhurta is not auspicious . Intrestingly, Abhijit muhurta is fit for zraaddha ceremony as well!. MAny say taht for zraaddha 9th is good but Matsya purana and Kurma purana gives 8th muhurta as suitable for zraaddha karma. At least in MAharashtra zraaddha karma statrs just after 12 of the clock. But should zraaddha be considered as auspicious I am not too sure. Hope it is useful to you. Thanks a lot for your Time and Space. AmolMAndar vedic astrology, sunil john <jjnet2000_in> wrote: > > Dear Gurus, > > > > 1. Guest guest
A muhurta is 2 ghatis=48 minutes. 0.8 hour. 8th Muhurtha will start after 7th is over, i.e. after 5.6 hours or 5 hrs 36 min. So if Sunrise is at 6.0 am, the 8th Muhurta will be from 11.36 AM to 12.24 PM. the usual practice is to fix this AT LOCAL MEAN NOON. (SUNrise+Sunset)/2 at the place. amolmandar <amolmandar > wrote: Dear SunilAccording to Narada Purana 8th muhurta of a day is Abhijit or Vidhi muhurta.MAtsya Purana calls it as Kutapa. Guest guest
Dear Sridar, The abhijit muhurta that you have mentioned is the same that i now remember reading in ND Shrimali's book long time back. Thanks for answering and thank you Mr. Amol for your post. If i remember correctly as now i dont have the book, it was mentioned that if Sunrise goes above 6 am then one should add that much time to 11.36 am. Is this correct, if possible pls confirm. Thanking You Best wishes Sunil John vedic astrology, sridhar k <kopparsa> wrote: > Dear Amolmandar. > A muhurta is 2 ghatis=48 minutes. 0.8 hour. 8th Muhurtha will start after 7th is over, i.e. after 5.6 hours or 5 hrs 36 min. Guest guest
The Abhijit Muhurta is dependent on both sunrise and sunset not just the Sunrise. The duration of the day (dina maana) is thus defined. Center of this dinaman is the ABHIJIT MUHURTA. For example, if Sunrise is at 5,30 am, and sunset is at 7.0 PM then Abhijit will be at (19 +-5.5)/2 = 12.25 i.e 12.15 pm I hope this helps jjnet2000_in <jjnet2000_in > wrote: Dear Sridar,The abhijit muhurta that you have mentioned is the same that i now remember reading in ND Shrimali's book long time back.
