Guest guest
JAYA JAGANNATHA! Dear Gurpinder, Namaste. - "GP Bhakt" <gpbhakt <vedic astrology> Monday, February 03, 2003 12:06 AM [vedic astrology] Mars and Ketu > Dear Respected Gurus and Learned members, > > I have read that Ketu is the higher harmonic of Mars. Then what is > the effect that they have upon each other. If we assign colors to planets, we say Mars is red, and Ketu is infrared. Also Saturn is dark blue or violet (opposite end of visible spectrum) and Rahu is ultraviolet. This means that the nodes extend the influence of these two planets on the subtle level. The rest of the spectrum is as follows: Sun - orange, Jupiter - yellow, Mercury - green, Venus - light blue, Moon - blue. So specifically in case of Mars and Ketu the common traits is being fiery, cutting, energic, swift, probing etc. but Ketu acting on a more subtle level. For example Mars is considered unfavourable for marriage, while Ketu is favourable. The power of Mars is usually more gross and dull than that of Ketu. > In my Rasi chart, they are together in Taurus in 9th house, which > also happens to be my Darapada and Upapada (Lord of 9th, Venus, is > in Leo in 12th alongwith Sun). A few thoughts: UL ad A7 together means the native is unlikely to get into extramarital relationships, so he wants to get married to the girl if he gets into a relationship. Plus the whole thing in the 9th indicates that the wife is religious. In your case it also has Mars and Ketu, which may substantially alter the indications. Mars is the significator of brahmacarya, and Ketu also suits it. So after all yu may not get married at all, or if yes, the lady should be strongly spiritual and having a strong Mars and Ketu in her chart. This may also refer to a Kuja dosha, but you should consider how spiritual is the parter's chart. If it is strongly spiritual and Mars strengthens spirituality, then a spiritual marriage is expected. If however her chart is weak spiritually, and a plain Kuja dosha is present, then the marriage may end abruptly with you being disappointed, depending on plnaets influencing the 2nd and 7th from your UL. 9th lord being in 12th with 12th lord extermely strengthens the combination for renunciation and spirituality. Usually Sun is considered to be in Marana sthana in 12th, but spiritually it may be good. It is bad for career and status only. > In Navamsa, they are in opposition, with Mars and Rahu > (Atmakaraka) in Cancer in 2nd house. Ketu is 12th from Upapada(9th > house), whereas Mars and Rahu are in 12th from Darapada(3rd > house). Lord of 9th, Saturn, is in Leo in 3rd house. UL in navamsa is more connected to the act of marriage itself, rather than the whole relationship. This navamsha for me suggests renunciation of marrage rather than a happy one. Anyway, more points should be seen in the whole char and different vargas to make it clear.
