Combustion is a very intersting Jyotish subject...

Especially, since Jupiter & Venus have been and are still combust...

There are particular rules which state how close all the different planets

need to be to be combust...

and they're interesting... but when you watch the Transits,

as I've been doing for so many years, now,

(16), that... you really start to see how important it is...

And yes, I do think it's important....

but not as important as other things...

and it's like a multitude of Jyotish, 'configurations'...

they're important....

but what is even more important...

is what we might do about it!

to literally change that situation in us!

When I was in India, in 1988, beginning to learn my jyotish,

my teacher, the renowned, His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi,

said:

'Don't take your charts seriously like they're written in stone,

they're just the state of your Physiology, at the time of birth.."

I thought that was interesting years ago, but today, I think this is one

of the most significant expressions I've ever heard about Astrology...

Our charts are not just about our 'fates', they're about our beginnings...

and though you can know a lot about one's 'karmas'...that are coming,

from previous actions...

Still, Jyotish, is like life, itself...

not about reliveing only consequences of the past, but Life,

is really about changeing ourselves and growing...

from where we've begun...to as far as we can...

And our charts...show the particulars of each one of our paths...

Remember our charts...including combustion, or retrograde, or weak

and malefic situations...

are not our curses!

but our opportunities...for growth...

and as we grow, and progress within our personal lives....

then, in a very real since,...we're literally,

changeing our Stars!

Now, that's a concept worth contemplating...

take care, all

Sun - 22 Sg 19'

Moon - 21 Sg 17'

Venus - 17 Sg 18'

Mars - 16 Sg 17'

Thanks for your help in clarifying my doubt.

PS, a few thoughts about,....this example of combustion...

Okay, at first glance all the planets are in combustion....

and notice, too, the New Moon, like the last 2 days,...

when the Moon was in Leo, with the Sun, in Leo...

along with Jupiter and Venus, both combust, too...

Remember this configuration only refers to a person's starting point...

thank goodness that all these planets love being in Sagittarius...

lst of all, the Moon, so close to the Sun...shows us that the

person's emotional nature, ie. the Moon, needs to be strengthened...

if you watch the Moon, waking and waning, each month...

it'll go through the same kind of closeness that the above configuration,

represents...

and you can experience, direcly what it might have been like for the person

born with that configuration...

but continue watching the Moon...

and especially, watching how you feel as the Moon gets bigger and bigger and bigger!

See, the Moon teaches us about our Moon's....

not only how big, sensitive, fragile, or emotionally strong we are...

but if we need to strengthen our own Moons!

And that's what the Waxing Moon teaches us... is exactly how wonderful it would

be to have a bigger and bigger Moon!

And many Vedic prescriptions...are about how to literally, strengthen..or expand our Moons!

The primary technique of Moon, expansion is Meditation...

Meditation...literally expands the container of the Mind...

When you meditate...and the mind turns inwards...

it literally expands...and like the Waxing Moon,

gets bigger and bigger and bigger!

Then, when we come out of meditation...we take a slightly bigger, mind,

nature, or Self...to our previous lives...

Research on meditation over the last 35 years...showw ennumerable..

benefits to the Mind, intellect, and physiology as a result...

certain studies show literally, how the potential of any individual can be expanded

through meditation...

and many educators think this is an extremely profound thing...because

generally it's not been thought that one's innate, potential, even IQ, was something

that could be changed...

In fact all previous research shows that on'e IQ, stops at about 22 to 25...and doesn't

grow for the rest of one's life...

but, with meditation, students, and then, later, even adults have been found to

continually be growing in this innate, intelligence...

and 'mind'...potential as a result of years of meditation...

In additon to this... I teach people how to be more in-tune with the Real, Moon, itself...

Not only does the Moon teach us about all the different sizes of 'emotional power',

but also the Waxing and Waning Moon,

teaches us about how to 'be active & how to rest'...

I tell people, be more in-tune with the Moon's cycle...

and as you do that...

Rest when the Moon's waning...and be more active with the Waking cycle...

you will find your own, emotional nature, and yes, even your own emotional

senstivity...will become stronger...

and as a result your 'literal', Moon, in you will become bigger!

Remember You can change your Stars!

think about that one for awhile...

[vedic astrology] Question on Combustion.

Thu, Aug 28, 2003, 6:32 AM

Dear Guru's and Leanred Members,

I am trying to understand the concept of Combustion.

Please take the following example of the planet

positions and clarify for me what planets are combust.

I also remember reading somewhere, Venus in direct

motion, since the direction of rotation of Venus is

the opposite as compared to other planets, hence Venus

is not combust in this example. Am I correct ?.

Also what other things one can see with these four

planets together as they are in 7th house, I mean

combust and non combust pint of view.

Sun - 22 Sg 19'

Moon - 21 Sg 17'

Venus - 17 Sg 18'

Mars - 16 Sg 17'

Thanks for your help in clarifying my doubt.

Regards

Rao
