Guest guest
Dear Peter, I have this book and used it during a period some years ago and experienced that the degree interpretations "sometimes work - sometime doesn't" (not much different than many other issues). The issue of "borrowing" someone else's work is a serious accusation. Please pay attention to the FIRST page you'll see that Manik Chad Jain is writing: "Collected and Co-related from ancient scattered writings and many Greek and Roman authors". He does not say that it's his work. Maybe an apology will be in place (though M.C. Jain is unfortunately no longer with us) in my opinion . Kind regardsJay Weiss http://w1.143.telia.com/~u14304644http://w1.143.telia.com/~u14303830 - Peter Richard vedic astrology Friday, September 05, 2003 2:57 PM [vedic astrology] Sabian Symbols Dear Rajeev, The popularisation of the Sabian Symbols is all well and good. However, for the serious astrologer who wishes to probe the deeper possibilities of each degree, I would respectfully recommend Dr Isidore Kozminsky's "Zodiacal Symbology". This work dates from immediately after World War 2. Some years later Manik Chand Jain 'borrowed' them' and republished under his own name with the title 'The Stars and your Future'. A 1989 reprint from Sagar Publications sits in my bookshelf. May interested students pause to check this and then decide for themselves. Guest guest
Dear Jay Weiss, Please do snap out of it! Not at all good to make knee jerk accusations WITHOUT ALL THE FACTS! Kindly check Kozminsky's work. Then see the word - for - word 'lifting' that's been done FROM there TO M.C. Jain's booklet in many of the degree interpretations. If anyone 'deserves an apology', it is the late Dr Kozminsky. Plagiarism is not so easily brushed aside by an obscure reference to 'Greek and Roman sources'... Many blessings, Peter - J. Guest guest
Dear Peter, Well, you did wake up my sleepy "detective side" and out of curiosity I went 'net-hunting' and found plenty of stuff regarding this issue. My conclusions: as far as I can see you were right in your statement (see also http://www.astroamerica.com/v-jain.html) so here it is me apologizing. Kind regardsJay Weiss http://w1.143.telia.com/~u14304644http://w1.143.telia.com/~u14303830 - Peter Richard vedic astrology Saturday, September 06, 2003 2:55 AM Re: [vedic astrology] Sabian Symbols -> Peter Dear Jay Weiss, Please do snap out of it!
