Questions to Narasimha About Your Software - Having Major Trouble Downloading: PLEASE HELP!!!

I am not sure. I hope your computer has a Microsoft Windows operating system

(Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000 or XP). I hope you have a software that is

capable of unzipping (e.g. WinZip, PowerArchive etc). If you do and the .ZIP

extension is associated with that software, then Windows should be invoking

that software for unzipping the zip file, rather than Ms-Word.

 

I am wondering that your browser may somehow be changing the extension from .ZIP

to .DOC or something automatically. Try clicking the right mouse button on the

link saying "click here" and then selecting "Save Target As" in the pop-up

menu. Then say "save" instead of "open" and select a directory where the file

is saved. After it is done, go to that directory and check if the file is saved

with the right name (jhl5.zip or jhl5s.zip). If the extension is wrong, change

it and then double click on it. If an unzipping software is already installed

and is associated with zip files, this would result in the unzip software being

launched.

 

If it is not helpful, I don't know what is wrong. Have you downloaded zip files before?
