Dear Shri.Jay Weiss,

I went through the article but many doubts remain.If you have studied the

Yoga and its effects,please let us know.For this Yoga to be effective,is it

enough Saturn and Rahu are in the same sign or have they to be close with in

certain degrees?For Aquarius Lagna,if Saturn and Rahu are in Leo,is the yoga

present?Will its evil effects be mitigated by the presence of Venus in the

9th in Libra?If not how it will manifest.

Dear Kaimal,

The answer is NO and therefore I referred you to the article as I was

looking for some material as well (due to a chart that I have).

I have my doubts as well due to the fact that even a very tight conjunction

of Saturn/Rahu will last for a relatively long time (weeks) with the result

of MILLIONS of people born with this combination. In my opinion there must

be more to it.

Furthermore, this yoga is not mentioned in any of the books dealing with

yogas that I have.

Maybe one of the advanced gurus (based on experience, not only theory) can

shade some light on the shrapit Yoga.

"I rest my case"...

Dear Jay,

Namaste,

 

I have read the article of your reference to Kaimal ji. The astrologer, who had

written it, had given some examples, and portrayed a horrible picture of the

Yoga. I have this yoga in my rasi chart in the 2nd house in scorpio. This

combination is aspected by exalted and retrograde Jupiter from 10th house (

both Rasi drishti & Graha Drishti ) and by Lagnadhipati Venus from 8th house (

Graha Drishti).I am now running 48th year of my life. At least some terrible

thing should have happened in my. With the Grace of God, it has been sailing

smoothly so far. I think, the aspect of Jupiter has made all the difference.

This is a general understanding that the aspect of Jupiter to Rahu ( or any

planet ), tones down the maleficience. If this is the case, why jupiter does

not tones down the virulence of such a combination?

 

I think, Gurus and learned members can enlighten us more about this yoga.

It is also my experience that Jupiter's aspect on Rahu will reduce any related

negativity (unless in a 5th/9th relation as it causes a mutual aspectation

between both).

As to your question I can honestly answer; "no idea..."

Dear Dr.Dilip Banerjee and Shri.Jay Weiss,

It is quite comforting to read what you have written about this scary Yoga.But

in this particular case Saturn is not the lord of Lagna and does it make a

difference?One of my brothers with Capricon Lagna has Saturn and Rahu togehter

in in his 11th house and his life has been a total disaster.I had refered the

chart to our respected Guruji.Shri.Ramadas Rao and he has also attribiuted this

affliction as the major factor for the trajedies though he has called it Sarpa

Dosha because of its association with the 5th house and other bad combinations

in the chart.

So is it a coincidence or is there more to it?May be we should wait for our Gurujis to comment.

Dear and respected members

 

I have seen a chart where Rahu, Venus and Saturn are in the fourth

house.This female is not having any children and related difficulties

are there.But proffessional ,educational and thereby monetary wise

the benefits are strong.Saturn is aspecting rahu in navamsha as

well.In Rashi,Jupiter lord of ascendant is aspecting this fourth

house from tenth house.I hope the Grujis will share their experience.

Dear Pradeep,

 

This must be one of those 'coincidence' where too many ????? arise.

Believe it or not I am working right now on a similar chart containing the

same configuration as you mention here.

The chart I have is dated only 12 days later but in a location 1000's of

miles/Km's away.

That gives us several weeks where ALL people born with Sag. lagna will have

the same configuration on that level.

Dear Weiss Ji

 

It is really interesting to know about the coincidence.Sharing the

experiences of the said individual in various fronts could be worth a

comparison and an opportunity for learning.I was thinking Venus which

could help in attaining mother hood(present in 4th house),though

exalted in pisces (malavya) ,is severely afflicted by saturn and

rahu.But there is an aspect from Jupiter.Dharma karmaadhipati is also

there.

So could you elaborate the point which you were mentioning regarding

Sag lagna ( Similar combinations) !

Dear Pradeep,

 

I will gladly share some points once I'm done with the chart and the

session.

The person insisted on providing me with an entire "life story", which make

it even more perfect.

At this stage I can say that the affliction of exl. Venus (& 4th lord

Jupiter) by Rahu surly brought out a tendency (in this person) which is

described in the standard text (se if you can guess what that is with the

hint of "Moon sqr Venus" as it is in this case .

In "my" chart Mercury and the Sun are separated so there is no Dharma

karmaadhipati.

Do pay attention to the fact that there is one (of some) factors which are

very different and significant between the two charts: Mars, lord of the 5th

& 12th is in the 11th (aspecting 'his' 5th) in "your" chart but in the

12th(!) in mine...which is for "better (in own sign) and worse (8th from

'his' 5th)"

Dear Weiss Ji

 

I had to search the web about square aspects,as i was unaware of

western concepts.I have heard abt sextile,square etc but was not

very sure.Now my understanding of square is 90 deg aspects ,ami

right?

so this can be 4 th or 10 th houses,not sure though!

 

When i try to understand ,exalted Venus in 4th house kendra to moon

and afflicted by rahu - plus your statement ' the individual showed

tendencies', looks like this

 

Venus can represent sexual energy and when afflicted by rahu could

go uncontrolled.Relating this to moon can be in bad direction as

well.This is just a guess.

 

Regarding Mars - For Sag Lagna mars is a benefic as it owns a

trine.Aspect on Putra sthana by Mars ,though benefic could be bad

and indicate problems unless aspected by Jupiter or Venus.

Dear Pradeep,

Yes, Square is 90 degrees in the western astrology. Sometimes, and without

paying attention I use the term which is 4th/10th aspect.

However it is also a matter of "how close in degree" this aspect is (in

western) as the common acceptance is less than 7 degrees for a square.

As for this person: she is bi-sexual and even lived in a lesbian

relationship, which will surely repeat in the future.

Knowledge about this condition existed since the age of 15.

There you go ...

Dear Jay, Dileep and other learned astrologers,

I have been reading about the terrible effects of Saturn Rahu and Mars Rahu

yogas. I have Saturn Mars and Rahu in 7th,nodoubt receiving aspect of Jupiter,

but have neither progeny related nor marital problems.We are in 30th year of

our marriage and my Son works with me.He was born 2 years after my marriage.

Could some one explain the logic behind the yoga? Rahu acts as Saturn when

alone"Manda sama Rahu" and his association with Saturn would, logically give

results similar to Saturn. So my question is why should the yoga be depicted as

a terrible yoga, irrespective to refference to House in which the yoga occurs

ans without considering house lordship of planets involved?

In case of such house destroying yogas like Mars+Rahu etc the

Kaaraka of house is also important. Kaaraka for 7th is Venus, Is

Venus present in quadrant? and where is mercury?.

Dear Chandrashekar,

I remember your chart (that in posed in the list

a long time before). The strong parivartana (vargottam parivartana)

between 2nd lord Saturn and 7th Lord Mercury (The two strongest

planets in your chart) has changed things. This parvartana involves

your 10th & 2nd lord as well!!

 

I still think that Venus should be in Navamsa lagna (which means

Navamsa Lagna should be Aries instead of Taurus).

Can you please tell me more about this yoga? I read the link

and it says that Saturn and Rahu together form a Srapit Yoga [Cursed].I have

come across a couple and they both have this and are facing alot of

problems.Any remedies? Also, what if Shani becomes AK in such a yoga?

We are discussing a lot about Shrapit dosa, the conjunction of Rahu and

Saturn can be bad because by the conjunction of Rahu with Saturn the malefic

effect of Saturn is increased many folds. Okay one way of analysing this dosa

can be the Rahu activated the effect,. this dosa is only due to the conjunction

of Rahu with Saturn. So Rahu is increasing the effects. The same as we know the

conjun ction of Rahu with Jupiter also causes Guru Chandala Yoga, which gives

problem to the native by its procreations. Means people with Guru Chandala yoga

feels their children do not bring name and fame to the parents. So in any ways

the Rahu that causes problem if conjuncts with any planet in general.

So, the best way can be do Puja for Lord Siva to ward off the evil

effects due to Rahu. It is believed that the Nagas they come from Naga Loga to

do Puja to Lord Siva on Pornimas. So Nagas (Both Rahu and Ketu) are under the

total control of Lord Siva. Hence if the native feels any problem due to Rahu

and Ketu in any form praying to Lord Siva can be a better remedy. Also visiting

the places where Rahu and Ketu have temples. In those temples if we go with the

horoscope there are people around the temple or the priest itself can consult

and tell about the dosas in general and they advice what to do in this regard.

So all the possible ways worshipping Siva or visiting the temples of Rahu and

Ketu can help a lot.

Eventhough the Shrapit dosa can be a dosa, the native can enjoy the benefit

also due to this conjunction of Rahu and Saturn provided in the 3rd, 6th, 10th

and 11th houses. because being malefic in those houses it becomes a great

benefit to the native. But more problems are complaint only if the same

conjunction is found in 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th and 12th houses.

In general the conjunction of Rahu with any planet causes problem.

Dear Ramani,

Allow me to repeat what I wrote a while ago:

This conjunction (Rahu/Saturn) is a "long termed one" (by minutes and degrees,

not mentioning by sign) and is found in many MILLIONS of charts where

(generally) 33% will be in 3/6/10 &11 houses and 66% in the others.

There has to be more to it (like other aspect etc.) in order to have an extra

ordinary impact on a persons life (besides the usual Rahu conj. stuff).

It's pity that none of the advanced gurus has not written yet in this regard.

Eventhough the Shrapit dosa can be a dosa, the native can enjoy the benefit

also due to this conjunction of Rahu and Saturn provided in the 3rd, 6th, 10th

and 11th houses. because being malefic in those houses it becomes a great

benefit to the native. But more problems are complaint only if the same

conjunction is found in 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th and 12th houses.

In general the conjunction of Rahu with any planet causes problem.

Hello Ramani Ji and all

 

This is one chart...

10 Dec 1968

11.52 am

Bombay

 

This chart has Sat® with rahu in 2nd House in Pieces. Since Sat is

lord of lagna and 12th House and Retrogate Sat. Moon is in 6th own

sign. while Jup lord of 2nd house is in 8th Virgo Aspecting Sat and

Rahu in 2nd house. So Benefic Jup has drushti on Sat + Rahu. And sun

is in 10th with Mer and 4th lord Venus is in 12th.

 

He is very uncertain about what he should do. Actually He takes

action with extream caution in every matter. And if fails gets very

much disturbed. I think this is because sat is Retro in 2nd house.

This person has main difficulty with respect to 4th house as Venus is

in 12th house while 12th lord Sat retro aspecting 4th. So the person

is vary much wavy mind. Also He feels deficiency in Kutumb Sukh.. But

Sat in 2nd makes the person very well organised.. so he is..

 

He in US right now but not happy with job. In the Chart Sun is lord

of 7th is in 10th inScorpio. This person likes to have authority.

He is keen to know about when he will have better job prospects...

And should he go back to india for better job or should be here in US?

 

As per dasha he is running Venus ketu. So I feel He has to wait till

Sun dasha for his better job prospects. As Sun is in 10th And Sun

gets digbala in 10th House.

I am confused about Sat.. Sat is Retro in 2nd.. Will it aspect 4th by

3rd drushti or will aspect 12th by third drushti. Which is correct...

 

In both Cases Sat either aspects 4th house or forth lord.... Sat

being lagna and 12th lord aand 4th lord is in 12th The person will

settle away from homeland...

 

Can Somebody put more light on my analysis.. I am learning So the

experts peoples comment will help me...

Dear Shriram,

Thank you for remembering my chart.I am not clear as to why you think Aries

should be the navamsha Lagna. This would place Venus n 11th from Karakamsha and

the indications do not match. Well that is besides the thread.

The reason I posed the question is to know opinion as to why Saturn Rahu should

form a shrapit dosha/yoga? I have laready explained how the yoga would work. I

know that Rahu is associated with Sarpa, but you might find it interesting to

read opinion of Acharya Varaha Mihira on this in his Brihat Samhita.

Dear Sanjayprabhakaran,

My chart is on the site and was also posted on the list as a puzzle. However, I

am attaching it for your convinience. That apart, my basic question remains

unexplained. The question was why give such malefeacance to Mras Rahu or Saturn

yoga when we consider how the chayagrahas give their results.That too with out

taking into consideration the house ownership aspects, and position of planets.

Usually Rahu and Ketu and their impact on the native cannot be

predicted very easily. Because we have to consider many things. Moreover, it is

belived the Rahu and Ketu have observed the native over the janmas and hence

they can reduce or increase the effect of other raja yogas accordingly.

Usually the Rahu and ketu can absorb the energy of the planet with it

they conjunct. Hence the conjunction of Rahu and Ketu are considered very much

and analysed by the skilled astrologers. Since Rahu can absorb the energy of

the planet it is in conjunction, and also the Rahu and Ketu act as per the lord

of the sign in which they are placed. Some astrological texts say that Rahu act

like Saturn and Ketu act like Mars.

Coming to the arguement of conjunction, Rahu or ketu when conjuncted with

any planets with in 10 degrees only, the effect whether malefic or benefic will

be pronounced. Coming to the arguement of Shrapit dosa within 10 degrees only

it can have the effect. When Rahu conjunct with any planet the other planet

loses its strength to some extent. As we know even in the Guru Chandala yoga

the Jupiter loses its strength. The native may get some sorrows due to the

children. Also the progress of the native can be seen only after a lot of

efforts.

Not only with Saturn but also with Mars if Rahu conjuncts the problems

are severe. But while analysing we have to consider many things in general. If

Mars or Saturn aspect the rahu the rahu's evil effects are activated very much.

Where as the benefic planet if aspect Rahu or Ketu the evil effects are

nullified to some extent. The malefic effect of Rahu and Saturn conjunction, or

Rahu and mars conjunction is that the native may meet accidents during those

dasa periods, here again the magnitude of evil effect is balanced or enhaunced

more according to the transit of planets. Mars and Rahu conjunction if stronger

with the aspect of benefic planets may render the divorce in married

relations.When Rahu conjunct with evil planets those evil planets if

debilitated then the dosa shows really the effect very much, on such occasions

really the remedial measures are needed to the 100% level.

In many case the Kal Sarp or similar dosa the effect is very much not seen

if Rahu or Ketu are aspected by the benefic planets. The presence of Gaja Kesari

yoga in a natal chart nullifies any dosa if present. Moreover, if the lord of

the ascendant is stronger the native feels the doas is nothing, the same way

the lord of the fifth and ninth houses protect the native very well. Like wise

we have to consider many things in general before we conclude the magnitude of

the dosas in the natal chart.

We are going to watch the effect of the conjunction of Rahu and Mars soon

around March in the Mundane level. But here again Jupiter is aspecting the

Aries sign which gives us the hope the evil effect will be less than expected.

Does only the conjunction of evil planets cause problems? No even the

conjunction of benefic planets in any house can cause problem than the evil

planets provided they conjuncted in the same degree. Then those two planets

lose their karaka too much and will be dull. Those dasas may not be fruitful

to teh native.

I appreciate your mail and it's content.

However, I wonder where the 10 degrees come from as time wise (fro Rahu/Ketu) it

will correspond to twice 6 month from any other planets when such conjunction

occur.

Moon-Rahu conjunction is in effect once a month, lasting approx. 40 hours (if we

take the 2x10 degrees). How many babies are born during that time frame ?

 

Secondly I do not share blindly the statement that Gaja Kesary Yoga nullifies

all dosas as it depends much on which lagna we talk about and where Jupiter and

the Moon are placed etc.

Over 25% of all charts have a GKY. My experience (which is not as wide as I like

it to be), among others my own chart shows that in (example) cases of Leo lagna

where Moon is lord of 12th and Jupiter lord of 8th and GKY exist, the dasa of

Jupiter/Moon or Moon/Jupiter can be a very disappointing and even cause great

losses (Moon is in my 2nd and Jupiter in the 5th - was indeed a very bad

time!).

 

I hold the view that the only valid statement is the one resulting from

statistical figures out of a study in accordance with "academic rules", where

the population is of wide geographical spread and of a significant number

relatively to the total.

This task is almost a 'mission impossible' due to it's magnitude and cost.

Furthermore, I believe that a persons place of birth has a direct connection

with his/her karma (another subject of endless discussions), which we have no

clue of how to extract it from a chart (as far as I am aware of).

loses its strength to some extent. As we know even in the Guru Chandala yoga

the Jupiter loses its strength. The native may get some sorrows due to the

children. Also the progress of the native can be seen only after a lot of

efforts.

Not only with Saturn but also with Mars if Rahu conjuncts the problems

are severe. But while analysing we have to consider many things in general. If

Mars or Saturn aspect the rahu the rahu's evil effects are activated very much.

Where as the benefic planet if aspect Rahu or Ketu the evil effects are

nullified to some extent. The malefic effect of Rahu and Saturn conjunction, or

Rahu and mars conjunction is that the native may meet accidents during those

dasa periods, here again the magnitude of evil effect is balanced or enhaunced

more according to the transit of planets. Mars and Rahu conjunction if stronger

with the aspect of benefic planets may render the divorce in married

relations.When Rahu conjunct with evil planets those evil planets if

debilitated then the dosa shows really the effect very much, on such occasions

really the remedial measures are needed to the 100% level.

In many case the Kal Sarp or similar dosa the effect is very much not seen

if Rahu or Ketu are aspected by the benefic planets. The presence of Gaja Kesari

yoga in a natal chart nullifies any dosa if present. Moreover, if the lord of

the ascendant is stronger the native feels the doas is nothing, the same way

the lord of the fifth and ninth houses protect the native very well. Like wise

we have to consider many things in general before we conclude the magnitude of

the dosas in the natal chart.

We are going to watch the effect of the conjunction of Rahu and Mars soon

around March in the Mundane level. But here again Jupiter is aspecting the

Aries sign which gives us the hope the evil effect will be less than expected.

Does only the conjunction of evil planets cause problems? No even the

conjunction of benefic planets in any house can cause problem than the evil

planets provided they conjuncted in the same degree. Then those two planets

lose their karaka too much and will be dull. Those dasas may not be fruitful

to teh native.

not mentioning by sign) and is found in many MILLIONS of charts where

(generally) 33% will be in 3/6/10 &11 houses and 66% in the others.

There has to be more to it (like other aspect etc.) in order to have an extra

ordinary impact on a persons life (besides the usual Rahu conj. stuff).

It's pity that none of the advanced gurus has not written yet in this regard.

Eventhough the Shrapit dosa can be a dosa, the native can enjoy the benefit

also due to this conjunction of Rahu and Saturn provided in the 3rd, 6th, 10th

and 11th houses. because being malefic in those houses it becomes a great

benefit to the native. But more problems are complaint only if the same

conjunction is found in 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th and 12th houses.

In general the conjunction of Rahu with any planet causes problem.
