I am looking for a prayer for Sri Lakshmi Varahamurthi (which has

been recommended as the Isthadevata for me). Much obliged if you

could point me towards the source for the same (in English) or mail

me privately the text file containing the prayer.

Dear Hari,

 

I have provided the link to the DasaAvatara Sthotram by Swami Desikan. Swami

Desikan is a very prominent Acharya in the Sri Vaishnava Sampradaya of Sri

Ramanujacharya. He appeared in the 13th century and was known for his devotion

to Bagawan Sri Hayagriva.His literary skills were unparalled and the various

poems and commentaries are a pleasure to read and also extremely powerful. He

is also known for protecting the Sri Rangam temple Deities during Malik Kafurs

invasion. He was offered the position of Diwan by the reigning king and refused

the same to lead a life of dire poverty and the refusal was also done via a poem

by name "Vairagya Panchakam", which has five verses that enunciate the fact that

big material positions mean nothing if one is blessed with devotion to the

Supreme Lord Sri Jagannatha. I just wanted to share some history about the

divine nature of the author.

In the DasaAvataara Sthothram the 4th paragraph pertains to Sri Varaha

Avatar.You may read the entire sthothram or if you choose the 4th paragraph

alone every day. This is a very powerful prayer. Besure to read the salutation

to Sri Desikan before the sthothram, as he is the Guru who will bless you in the

steps(reading the prayer composed by him) that you take to reach your

Ishta.Browse through the website and you also have audio links to learn
