Historically, Eclipses, from the Jyotish, or Vedic Science point of view

are Inauspicious...

and even dangerous,....times...of the malefics...Rahu and Ketu....

trying to devour the lumanaries!

Sun, & Moon....

So, staying in....being on the Self....

Meditating....

are all good things to do!

Dear List,

 

Can anyone tell me why the temple would be closed on the eclipse. I'm only

guessing that is why it is closed. Living in DC, I am near enough the Shiva

Vishnu Temple in MD and it is usually opened on Saturday nights but was closed

here by early tonight. The full eclipse itself will happen here at 8:13 tonight

but am wondering what the significance is with relation to the temple, if any.

Would it have been closed all day due to this eclipse - if that is the reason?
