souvik,

I am no great authority ... but here are my 2 cents.

There is some controversy to this. My own view is that if there are

no "neechabhanga yogas" in the chart, the planet's malefic results is

intensified.

Jaimini sutras are hard to interpret and refer mainly to a separate

system of analysis which defers considerably from parashara system.

In general, rules from one system cannot be applied to another

directly.

They are karakas i.e., natural significators of mind (moon) and

spirit (sun). Ascendant determines chart-specific karakas (4th lord

for emotions and 1st lord for self/spirit). Both indications should

be combined for proper analysis. Human nature is rarely good or bad,

but mainly grey.

Hi ,I have some questions on certain concepts ofastrology:1. Vargottam planets

give good results or are as goodas exalted ones. Is this true if the planet

isdeblitated e.g. Mars in Cancer, Jup in Capri, etc.

Reply: This position indicates that God wanted it that way. These positions do

not yield to remedies. The results are certain to occur. Ofcourse good & bad

are relative terms.

2. In Jamini shastra, it is stated that if Luminaries(Sun,Mon) occupy dusthanas,

they do not act asmalefics. In that case can we conclude that ppl withLagnas

where Sun,Mon act as Lords of Dushthanas canchant mantras, wear gems

(Pearl,Ruby).

Reply: ppl means people, right? Prayers, you can offer, no matter what.

Mantras are relatively safe, if done with sincerity. All the mantras may not

suite all! One receiving this knowledge from a Guru will be able to guide on

this.

Gems, especially to malefics, one should be very selective in recommending. By

Gems we are strenthening a planet, Not appeasing the planets.

Also, occupying Dushtanas & being dusthana lords are different things.

3. It is said (in both BPHS and Jamini sutras) thatMoon repesents the mind and

Sun the atma. So how forcertain lagnas the mind and spirit of that

individualbecome malefics to himself.

Reply: pls note that Jaimini sutras are crisp formulas given by the maharishi

which needed decoding. The base for which is in Parasara's BPHS. It may be

wrong to call them as different systems.

Mind may take us to bad things, but that is not the point.

We have three types of Karakas. Sthira, Nasargika (Same planets applicable to

all) and Chara karakas, which change from individual to individual. Sun & Moon

you have given are Nasargika Karakas.

Think what is good & bad.

>>>>These questions may be silly, but I shall be gratefulif they are clarified

for the sake of the whole group.

Reply : They are not silly. it has been a pleasure writing to you.
