Guest guest
Namaskar everyone, Though I have been a member of this group for a long time now, I never posted. I have recently started learning vedic astrology. I hope to get some help from the esteemed members of this group. My question is regarding the lordship of planets over kendras. I have learnt that benefic planets become functionally malefic if they are the lord of the kendras. If the functionally malefic lords are posited in kendras will they still continue to be malefic? Guest guest
Dear Sahana, This is not quite straightforward issue, in practice- yes, benefic as lord of kendra is not considered auspicious, except for Lagnesh- however, do keep in mind that natural benefic will not become malefic just because of this, neither malefic will become benefic if functional benefic for the Lagna /due to lordship over good houses-kendra, trinal lords/. Secondly, karaka for a house placed there is not considered beneficial either- These are general rules, however, the entire chart has to be taken into account before reaching any firm conclusion-All other factors have to be considered, aspects, placement, maraka house lordship, etc.. Functional malefics, /due to dusthana H.lordship, placed in Kendra, will certainly be malecic, however, spoiling the k. house it's placed in- if functional malefic happens to be natural malefic as well, that's double the trouble. Hope this anwers your questions. Guest guest
Dear Anna, Thanks for answering my query.A native has Virgo ascendant, for him Jupiter and Mercury become the 4th, 7th and 10th lord respectively, thereby becoming temporal malefic due to their ownership of kendras. His Jupiter and Mercury is placed in the 4th house. Would these planets be malefic for him? Guest guest
Dear Sahana, I told you what I think already. Ju as lord of 4th and 7th is in 4th- 7th is maraka H. I've explained rules that I've learnt- but, please this is Ju in its Moola trikona sign, and I would expect it to be positive. Ju will protect the house it's in, and 4th is so important one. Bad side of this Ju I would see from its being maraka Lord- but that manifestation depends on dasa running, on aspects, etc. Plus, there is at least Navamsa that you should study as well. Me is in 4th- karaka for 4th, lord of 10th /second rule from my previous post- not good to be in house that it's in/. BUT: You should certainly look at aspects and entire chart, instead of taking rules literally, and be fearful. So many factors can intervene, and modify picture, and in fact you hardly ever meet clear-cut situation. Let me comfort you- I'd rather have this Ju and Me in 4th, than Raya Yoga karaka mars in 4th- got the point?Best wishes, Annasahana22 <sahana_23 (AT) rediffmail (DOT) com> wrote: Dear Anna,Thanks for answering my query.A native has Virgo ascendant, for himJupiter and Mercury become the 4th, 7th and 10th lord respectively, thereby becoming temporal malefic due to their ownership of kendras. His Jupiter and Mercury is placed in the 4th house. Guest guest
Jai Shankar Hi Sahana When Functional malefic happen to be the lord of Kendra - it just losses its malefic nature. Same way, Functional benefic if lording Kendra will lose its benefic nature. However, it does not mean that Malefic becomes Benefic & Benefic becomes Malefic. Respected Gurus will correct me.... regards Tushankur "sahana22" <sahana_23@rediff vedic astrology mail.com> cc: [vedic astrology] Regarding kendra lordship 09/01/2004 20:43 Namaskar everyone, Though I have been a member of this group for a long time now, I never posted.
