Guest guest
Hello Lakshmi: Thanks for the good thoughts. I'm not getting married in India again. The old culture and stereotypes of Indian women have changed, Indian women are no longer the doting, obedient, married-for-life type anymore. They are getting more and more Bohemian in their approach towards marriage and relationships. The worst thing is that a lot of Indian women these days are using their bodies as a stepping stone for success and an easy life. Indian/non-Indian men who go to India to get married to the "typical" Indian woman are in for a rude shock. Yes, there still are women in India, especially in Southern India, and in smaller villages who cherish the Indial morals and live a clean life. However, the ones who are willing to marry total strangers they met on the internet aren't the ones who fit the age- old label of the virtuos Indian woman. -- These Indian women marry foreigners, come to the West and realize that they have to WORK HARD for the next 30 years to pay off the mortgage on the house and put kids through school are SHOCKED. And, they continue to seek a man/husband/lover who can provide them the GOOD LIFE that they've seen in the Hollywood movies. In fact, my third wife called me day before yesterday and told me directly that she is looking for a RICH husband who has a Mercedes and a HUGE house and who won't expect her to work and contribute towards running the household. Well, I'm hoping other Indian men/women who have been burned like me share their stories so that other who are planning to marry a chaste/virtuous/morally good wife/husband in India don't fall into this trap. I know I'm offending some Indian women with my notes, but the truth is that India is going through a cultural and sexual revolution and sleeping with someone for material benefit is becoming normal for a lot of women in the cities. Well, enough venting, maybe I'm a case of sour grapes. Well, I'm hoping God makes good things happen to me on the martimonial front and I lose this bitterness. Hare Krishna to you to too.
